Wrong.

That assumes that people have a choice in who they buy from.

Mostly they do.

People respond to incentives.

Mostly there is far more than one supplier that they can choose from.

Here is another site I find this almost as good as Demonoid for content on some things it might even better. To me this the only thing this site lacks that would make it as good as demonoid is that you don't get many feedback comments.

I have to admit I'm a little apprehensive about people advertising their favourite torrent sites, mainly because the powers that be seem to clamp down on the ones they see as 'popular' and well as you know this forum and others like it get spidered for their content (There is a number of network 'Research' companies that exist purely to datamine for what ever firm [or department] funds them to 'investigate'.)

I don't think depts. or firms need to hire 'Research" companies to find out which sites are the most popular. These sites are not hidden and a 10 second google search will result in dozens of articles and/or stat charts displaying the "best" or "most popular" torrent sites. (or they could simply ask their 16 year old nephew).

Stryder I think things here are okay as no one is advising or claiming to use these sites to download illegal material. I myself do not use it for these illegal purposes I am sure my use is legal.

I have made a home movie that shows my elbow over the course of a day. But using make-up, special effects and carefully chosen music, it appears that my elbow has aged two days as opposed to just one.

I have uploaded the file to a bittorrent and at the same time I am also downloading it. This has created an amazing event very close to that of shezers (sp) cat, where the torrent is in two states at the same time.

I can then sometime imagine the circular motion of the data as the children program magic roundabout and I can see dougal and zibberdy joyfully riding the data.

I am sure others here use the site for a simliar purpose.

Okay rather than being clandestine about what I was trying to say, A few of the worlds government's 'Snoop' websites/protocols via 'Research company' fronts. The reason for this is the Echelon project as well as 'National Security' (Which for most is just some wacko conspiracy that people talk about.)

In the UK there is usually legislation followed that if someone is found doing an illegal activity while being questioned or under surveillance for another reason they can prosecute even if that crime (no matter how minor) had gone undetected. So basically if you have a hard-drive full of downloaded media that you didn't pay legally for they could take your equipment away and allow it to lead on to investigation of other parties that you'd shared with.

Lucky the law hasn't been so anally followed through... so far anyhow.

Some of us do have legitimate reasons for using torrents, some of us are clever enough to suggest that we have legitimate reasons, some of us still however do flaunt the downloading of material contrary to it's licensing and do so with great pleasure like it gives them satisfaction. However those people undermine the whole sharing community as their flauntation (Flirtation) comes back on that community rather than those flaunting.

Simply use demonoidproxy.com to access demonoid
