The Earth is a crystal that grows.
Later, one of the workers, with the intention of stealing crystals, managed to get in through a narrow hole. He tried to take some plastic bags filled with fresh air inside, but the strategy didn't work. He lost consciousness and later was found thoroughly baked.
Incredibly dumb.
Why was he thoroughly baked though? I know temps were around 136 F when they formed in water, but the water is all gone now. Is it still that hot there?
No it isn't, or did you miss the part where there's been no significant change in Earths moment of inertia for at least 620 million years?

Only by taking material from other things. A crystal in a saturated liquid grows only by taking material from the liquid. The total mass stays the same.

Isn't that how all things grow? Or can things grow another way?

Wow. Now I've heard it all. For your information, 70% of the Earth's surface is immersed in liquid.
However, as far as growth is concerned, something need not be immersed in liquid in order to grow. The universe isn't immersed in liquid, but presumably you believe that grows. Stars grow and they are not immersed in liquid. Every planet in the universe without subduction is growing, which even according to PT is every planet in the universe except the Earth.

I doubt Trippy is claiming crystals cannot grow. You are putting words in his mouth. Quote a specific post of his where he says "Crystals cannot grow". Precisely that and not something you interpret to mean that.
Completely failed to understand what I said. The mass of the object growing and the liquid it is getting its raw material from remain the same.
You can buy children's chemical kits which are saturated copper sulphate solutions and a tiny crystal of copper sulphate. You hang, on a string, the crystal within the solution and over the course of a week or so it grows larger, because the copper sulphate in the solution crystallises onto the crystal. The total mass of the contain of liquid and crystal doesn't magically change.
They are immersed in a haze of dust, which behaves like a liquid.
Despite being told that isn't what mainstream physics says, you continue to repeat that lie.

If you grow a crystal in a closed system, then the total mas sof that system remains constant.
The only thing that changes is the state of whatever the crystal's made out of.
It's really that simple - there is no net change of mass.
Even with those massive crystals in the picture in the initial post. If you measure up the total mass of the matrix that the void is part of, and the mass of the water (a good two or three oceans worth for crystals that size) the total mass remains constant.
The precipitation of silica from an aqueous solution is not the 'mass from nothing' magick that you have claimed that 'controlled fusion' and 'cold fusion' must be responsible for.
We're talking high school chemistry here, apparently a level of chemistry education you have yet to attain.

i've already agreed that crystals grow - just not in a way that magically adds mass to the earth - which is the way you're trying to imply.
You weren't asking me a question, you were implying a falsehood - that I don't think that crystals can grow, therefore putting wordsin my mouth.
