So prices are going to drop.
like in any global recession, tourism takes a hit.
If however the world goes into a major economic depression, which is highly likely, tourism and other discretionary (luxuries) spending goes through the floor.
Demand drops and this will of course impact on pricing.
However as paddoboy alluded to, it is better to have some than none (tourism)
Also there are many other benefits of creating an Oceania safe haven.
One being the work force required in Agriculture in Australia. Many of such workers come from Oceania regions and provide their families back home with much needed dollars which helps maintain sovereign relationships and local economies.

Quite factual that, as I know many Fijians that did/do the same thing.
And on top of that, with their natural talent for playing Rugby [League and Union] and the incredible money that is played to those good enough for the NRL competition, some of those so contracted to Sydney/Queensland clubs, are altering and benefiting entire Fijian villages.

Great job Daniel!!!Yep, certainly...but with regards to lockdowns, sometimes short term pain for long term gain.....
It now appears that much of Europe, Ireland and Wales are deciding into going into forced lockdown to halt the incredible amount of rising cases.
There is not a hospital system in the world that will be able to cope with what can be expected in the UK, Europe by Christmas. As soon as the hospitals are over whelmed the death toll goes up hugely.
People generally have difficulty comprehending why lock downs are so necessary, but as soon as the health professionals call it quits and stay at home I guess they will have to come to terms with reality. Too many have sacrificed their lives and families for the community and still we have wankers protesting about social distancing requirements.
I am reminded yet again that the one key issue the governments are not talking about is the issue of insurance and how difficult and expensive work place and entertainment venues will find it to insure against public liability, and work place safety. (both legally required in Australia)
If the government can not instill confidence in the insurance industry then most places where people gather in groups will simply not open. Lockdowns or not is not the actual issue when it comes to economics, Insurance and potential litigation is. IMO
