Malicious deception is a criminal offence, which would be easy enough to prove:

Whenever an avatar is changed a date stamp will have been affixed, server side, to be checked as need be, in retrospect, to demonstrate the truth of the matter, when a change was made, which may then be compared to the relevant postings record.
