They were 'adopted' by the circus when they were children.
Wow that sucks. But not deadly, and relatively easy to treat I would think.

The operation seems to have been a success
Still she will have to live with people knowing about it all her life. And she might not be able to walk normally.
Life sucks.. but had she been born a few decades ago she would have died eventually.
Maybe if she was born centuries ago they would have revered her as a God.
The modern world treats her as a freak and tries to 'repair' her.
She'll spend the rest of her life now as a forgotten cripple trying to fit in with the 'norms'... instead she could have lived a glorious short life in bygone times.
Chalk up another victory to the faceless industrial machine.
If left untreated it would lead to early death.
Longevity over quality?
I'll take the quality every time.
The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

....It's only in modern times, and modern societies, that seek to "force" such a "thing" to live on and have a miserable fuckin' life....
As far as I'm aware, centuries ago, they'd have killed her outright as a freak of nature. It's only in modern times, and modern societies, that seek to "force" such a "thing" to live on and have a miserable fuckin' life.

How would she have quality to her life ? I mean, she has to find a way to crap right ?
Couldn't she crap?
I think she had an anus according to the news.
speaking from experience??
She will have a reasonable normal life now if no complications occur.
At the cost of the operation, how many perfectly normal children could be saved from death by starvation or simply-cured diseases? Is that one malformed kid, who'll grow up still malformed, worth the lives of the other perfectly normal kids who could use that money to live?
Baron Max
How many normal children could be saved from death by starvation if you would off yourself today ?
What about the ongoing costs of you ? How much do you have in your savings account ? Do you give to the poor ?
My, aren't you a shining example of how humanity has crapped itself. Those of you who think it's a fine thing, think about it .....how would you like to be that "thing" and grow up in this world?
Baron Max
You don't care about all the starving children.Probably none. It doesn't cost anyone anything for me to shoot myself. But the operations and the ongoing costs of keeping that one malformed kid alive is going to cost many millions of dollars ....money that could be used to help thousands of perfectly normal kids who are starving to death.
I would consider such people who stare and turn away in disgust as being uneducated boors who have no ounce of empathy or understanding.Yes, as a matter of fact. Have you not witnessed the stares, the uncomfortableness of people when they're around "handicapped" people? How would you like to be one of "those" people? ...and have others stare at you, and try to turn away to keep from looking at you?
So what do you propose? Would you kill her at birth because she is not "normal" to look at? What is normal anyway? How do you define what is normal Baron? Would you kill that child because she makes you uncomfortable? That's what it comes down to in the end, isn't it? You prefer to kill people born with deformities because they make you uncomfortable.Yeah, I've had that experience, and my guess is that you and others have, too. ...whether you admit it or not. Lying about something like that is easy, ain't it? Telling the harsh truth is sorta' not ....ahh, politically correct and you might be ostracized for it, huh?
You see.... this is the only thing I like about you, Baron Max. You are very genuine. You say what is in your mind even if it is completely unnaceptable in our society.Yes, as a matter of fact. Have you not witnessed the stares, the uncomfortableness of people when they're around "handicapped" people? How would you like to be one of "those" people? ...and have others stare at you, and try to turn away to keep from looking at you?
