I'm genetically inclined to develop cellulites. My mothers looks like a mountain of cottage cheese, I have already gotten some around the upper thighs and am currently at war against them. Working out at least 4 times per week and doing massages every day to even out the lumps of fat, because that's what they are, right?
Can't currently afford any expensive creams, but do they work anyway?

I want the full story about your cellulites and how you got rid of them?

There must me some woman in history who's actually gotten rid of them?

Any housecures that actuallyb work?

Well, I did not post to the poll yet.
I don't know exactly what my answer may be.
I am "fairly young" like late 20's early 30's. I have not noticed any as of yet.
Don't know if age has anything to do with the amount you have.
I have heard that "surgical" procedures that work better than anything. Also I feel that if you let yourself get picky about yourself. You won't get comfortable with how you look an will eventually push people away. One way to push someone away my example is you say find someone who likes/loves you an everything about you. You reveal your dislike about your cellulites, or scars you have or maybe you feel you have bad toes. Then you are not comfortable revealing yourself in say a bathing suit, or full nude to said person who likes or loves you. An you may complain about it. They will get tired of hearing it. Or they will tier about you being so uncomfortable. An be pushed away. Be comfortable with who you are is what I'm getting at. Its great you are able to work out. But I don't picture you as "over weight". I don't know how much weight may have to do with cellulites either. But I thought an am under the assumption those that are a little "heavy" have a little bit. But so do older people in general.
I have undergone a few "changes" in the last.... 5 1/2 years. (Working incident), I have had to adjust an accept the "new me". I had a hard time I will admit. But when I could walk again. I seen it could have been worse. An so I accepted my new situation. An my situation has gotten some better over time.
{:D change some things around you, an accept what little you could not} - some quote from some time

Sounds like some major changes, glad to hear you can walk!

Cellulites are fat! But even if you're a thin person, you still have some fat and if you are genetically inclines to develop cellulites you can get them while you're still young and skinny too.
Yeah, I think surgery is the only sure way to get rid of them. One can make them less apparent by working out, eating healthy, sleeping enough and massaging the lumpy areas.

I'm quite happy with my body and not uncomfortable in that way, if a guy don't like my butt, then what the hell!!

But I'm also a perfectionist.

Yup, what the hell. :) ("there is more fish in the sea.")
Sounds like your are doing the best your are able too, to fight off the "Fat".
An there is nothing wrong with being a perfectionist. ;) good luck with "your fight".

Cellulite affects about 90% of the female population.

The problem is cellulite, fatty deposits of dimpled skin that can appear on even the most fabulously thin body.

"That's because cellulite is not a fat problem, it's a skin problem. It has nothing to do with what you weigh, or how much weight you lose," says Hollywood dermatologist Howard Murad, MD, author of The Cellulite Solution.

As you suggest, Bebelina, cellulite is largely hereditary. Healthy diet and a good amount of activity are the solutions that I utilize and living in a cold climate, cool even in summer, means that I am unlikely to be flashing more than my bare arms and a bit of camisole. I have no need or desire to compete with 25 year olds.

Despite having 'natural blonde streaks' in my brown hair and an increasing number of 'smile lines', I am well aware that most of the male population between the ages of 39 and still breathing wouldn't kick me out of bed for eating crackers. :D

You may well know these suggestions, but this is a brief summary of some dietary guidelines to prevent/treat cellulite.

Thanks for the links.

So to sum up the cellulite problem.

It's a different type of fat than the fat we lose when we excercise, so even thin women can have them.
It has to do with the muscle layers getting rigid with age and letting fat slip through to the surface of the skin.
Eating antioxidants may help, you are what you eat etc.
Deep layer massages can help temporarily, even if you get rid of cellulites they come back after a few months and you must repeat the treatments.

There are many very expensive creams and laser treatments and pills that you can take, but that effect is also just for a few months.

The many scientists on this forum could surely develop a recipe for an everyday anti-cellulite cream that is affordable for all women ( since creams are said to work) .

Cut down on coffee? Impossible.

Foods that support collagen in our bodies should be helpful in reducing the potential for cellulite.

Collagen is classified as part of our body's connective tissue. Connective tissue is found virtually everywhere in the body. Our bones and skin are composed primarily from connective tissue, but it's found everywhere, in virtually all of our organs. It's the job of connective tissue to hold things together, to protect other tissue, and provide our body with support. Our tendons and ligaments are all connective tissue structures.

These phytonutrients help the collagen fibers link together in a way that strengthens the connective tissue matrix.

They certainly won't do us any harm in the battle. :)

This short list is considered to be among the world's healthiest foods.

I hesitate to suggest this, but if all else fails. Some very creative tattoo work might make it more attractive.:D

Yes, so much healthy food to eat. Now I'm hungry. Replacing chocolate with nuts and fruit might be a good idea then, for snacks.

What type of tattoo? Hands? :D Bloodveins? Something borgish with the words "assimilation", with mechanical devices..hmm. Always wanted a snake tattoo, but one that goes all around the body.

How about two snakes, one for each leg and the cellulite could give the scales some dimension and texture.:D

:roflmao:

It's good that you can laugh about it. I know some guys that have had this problem, but I think for most of us guys it's not a problem we have to worry about.

Do you think tattooed varicose veins would hide the cellulite?:D Oh! You don't want those either.:D

I should get a tattoo that really enhances the cellulites and add extra bloodveins twirling around the legs. Get ahead of thing and show off those old grandmalegs 40 years before their time. I could also tattoo wrinkles on the arms so it becomes an all over effect. It's a new fashion, the zombielook. No wait, that was yesterday. :O

As far as I knew cellulite is structural support between upper and lower layers of epidermis . You could think of single rubber-bands anchoring the skin on the top to deeper layers. If there's too much fat, for example, the rubber band would be taunt and cause a depression or dimple. But, you could also just grab some skin and squeeze it to force a dimple. I suppose depending on how your body has developed would determine how tight, how many, how deep, etc.. your connective tissue is.

IMO I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're generally healthy. I don't know of any normal man that really cares about cellulite on a normal healthy woman's body. A neurotic man with personality problems maybe.

I find a level of perfection to be esthetically pleasing in life in general - kind of calming :) But, it's best to pick a few battles, some small, some big, and overachieve in those areas and not waste too much time with other things. Cellulite could be said to fall into the category of: Don't worry about it. Personal health OTOH - yes, continue to take care of it.

Good advice and reality are two very different things. Anything that's not quite right with your body is going to have an affect on how you feel about yourself and that feeling will come through to how others perceive you. Generally speaking good advice from any well meaning friend just won't help much.

Isn't that the truth!

Haha.... although I do find sometimes people do take a different perspective.

It very much depends on whether you are open to suggestion or not. ;)
