There are times when the best strategy, the best advice, the best approach, is random selection from what can work.

You need two things difficult to arrange:
1) an exhaustive collection or library of what can help or work in complex situations of the kinds not amenable to simple analysis: let's call that a body of wisdom.
2) a method of random selection from it that entrains enthusiasm, that "feels right" so that you are ready and willing to act accordingly, let's call that authority.

If you have that, you have something valuable. Respect it.

As with the placebo effect: it's foolish to reject the benefits on the grounds of a shallow logic.

There are times when the best strategy is to have a theory as to what it is you are observing and why it works

You need 3 things which are not difficult to arrange

1/ a method by which you can test your theory
Lets call that research

2/ a way to figure out what the research shows you
Lets call that analysis

3/ a brain to understand
Lets call that a brain

If you have that you have something valuable
