C Into FPLA

I've been waiting for something like this to show up, ever since I heard about those Field Programable Logic Arrays; Somebody has produced an effective compiler to turn C code into FPLA configurations, so that a computer can be instantly reconfigured on the fly to execute the program directly in logic. Result? Hundreds of times faster processing.

So what we have here are hardware/software combinations dedicated to specific tasks. Not as versatile as a normal computer. Basically an expert system in whihc the hardware, too, is configured specifically for one task.
