why is playing video games a waste of time? why is it any worse than other recreational activities?
I didn't say it was. I agree with you when you say video games are just as big of a "time wasting" activity as other recreational activities.
I didn't say video games are a waste of time. I said, IF they were, they are equally as useless as other recreational activities. I'm on YOUR side here, but you don't seem to understand.
Some people may view playing video games as a 'waste of time' , but i see it as cheap therapy. Whenever i feel like killing myself , i just put on a video game. You forget how much life sucks when you are immersed in a game
Well as long as one can balance out their duty, chores, social life and free time well I don't see a problem with video games. At least it has made me a dummy or cut me from indulging in the opposite sex. Admittingly I do lose sleep over it sometimes when I'm really into a game but their's no way it's getting in my schedules with friends.
Right now im playing Knights of the old republic 2 on the original XBOX. wacky as, best starwars game. Some of the sentence choices has me laughing. You get asked to help people, something along the lines of "can you help me", and you get to answer with things like "i'll help you....too die."

yeah KOTOR rules... make sure you take HK-47 with you a lot and talk to him a lot, he's funny as hell, although I liked him much better in the first KOTOR, he has more to say. I think he was voted the best video game character once.

Minsc.. I had to google that I never played baldurs gate. Might as well get it since I'm bored. I guess its like diablo 2? I kinda got bored with that. With that in mind, do you think its worth getting baldurs gate? or is it just the same with a different storyline?
By today's standards the graphics are lame - are on par with Diablo. The gameplay, story and characters(kotor excepted) have yet to be reproduced. Well ok, planescape torment did - but I am jaded on that one, a bug ruined my game.
Actually Jagged Alliance 2 had well done and more characters. Not as much depth though.
BG +BG2 could be gotten for cheaper than the cost of pirateing it nowdays...
