Currently reattempting to complete UFO:Aftershock, I've uninstalled it twice for various reason so this time I've actually got to finish it (rather than start another game). Was recently playing Overlord which is fun, although I'm holding off on the last map to extend the game a bit.

What $5? I use steam to play. You download and install steam and then you buy the game (CS is $20). There's no monthly fee. The cool thing about steam is that the digital purchase is always there so you can install CS without purchasing again if you decide to reinstall your computer. No messy cds, no fuss.
One of the best old games in history along with Settlers and Lemmings. Bring back the Atari! Although I shouldn't forget Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on N64.
The only one I've played recently is Star Wars Battlefront II - Great fun online with all the variety. Oh and Mount & Blade, if only they made that online too.
Some newer versions of my fav games actually now suck. Though I rather liked the Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis Series and Galactic Civs.
I'm REALLY trying to play Gal Civ II - (dark avatar now) - it is SO sterile - no draw me in gameplay, I quickly get bored.
Pacific fighters is even more sterile, flying a mission...keep flying it, ops you died, just try again. No cut scenes, no character, no "extra" just a really good sterile flight sim. Oh how I miss the reb baron days....
