I think - not sure, but indications are - your basic complaint is that you have to pay taxes to live in a civilization. I think that's "socialism", in your world.
It's cheaper wherever there is socialism, more expensive wherever there isn't. Unsocialized medical insurance is probably the single most important reason US companies have been buying robots.
