Are we all the same?

If everyone is born sound mind and able body(even without either), what makes one human greater than another?

EDIT: The reason I ask this is that there seem to be a imbalance of behaviour from various different parts of society. In other words, I don't like people who think they're better then a tramp I take for a meal. Shallow behaviour, are you shallow?

John Rawls argued strongly for that. As do I.

In philosophy, the original position is a hypothetical position from which members of society would consider which principles they would select for the basic structure of their society if they had no knowledge ahead of time regarding the position which they would end up occupying in that society. The idea of having no such knowledge, because everyone is behind a veil of ignorance, represents a thought experiment often associated with the work of the American philosopher John Rawls.

One human will have different abilities from the next. But whether or not that makes one “greater” than another depends on what you mean by “greater”. One may be able to do partial differential equations, another may be able to sing solos, a third may be good at plumbing. And some may not be very good at anything identifiable. What does “greater” mean, then? Most enlightened societies start from the principle that everyone has equal value as a human being, at least in law.

Seemed like a really nice person, John Rawls. Thanks for introducing him to me.

I remember meeting this strange young man that wanted to dance with me outside(I was already outside), I pointed out the barman who was taking the bin out(had to walk 100yrds to empty it), I said "he's got it tough", this dancer said "everyone do what they do" along those lines, it wasn't quite that but I say everyone is playing a part in a grand theatre, directed and watched by the universe. We all must play our parts. This is the only thing I have come up with that describes the imbalance of power that certain people get/don't get and they(most of the time) think they're better then you.

Jesus did say that leaders of people(think country leaders) are chosen by God(John 19:11).

EDIT: It was "someone has to do it" the dancer said.

I don't know about greater, if we stick everyone on Mars after throwing a few nukes(terraform) on it to develop an atmosphere, we'd see the "greater" people like Bear Grills would be worshipped, he would teach anyone who will listen how to eat inedible insects. Mars must have insects like cockroaches after we nuke it.

We are lucky, I wasn't disadvantaged when I left school with no passes all A's... Absent. I have done well so far from a very working class family.

People should be and generally are, equal under the law. That doesn't mean we should expect equal outcomes since they aren't equal in ability, character, motivation, etc.

Why would nuking Mars create cockroaches?

In my country(UK) we are most definitely not equal under the so called law. This is all supposed to happen, dentists, shagging fanatics, wild west it all was meant, that's my view. God is possibly the director, we have great universal stars like Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Shakespeare even JC made a few appearances.

They're bound to be cockroach eggs on the nukes, cockroaches are tough as nails, in fact only a good boot kills them. They'd survive on this planet if it got nuked. What do you think?

It's all scientific!

I think it was the part about cockroach eggs ON a nuke which is then detonated on Mars... that provoked incredulity. I knew roaches were hardy, but I don't think their eggs would survive ground zero of a nuclear blast and then produce roaches on a cold lifeless planet. "Mars ain't no place to raise a kid...."

BTW, regarding

When under stress, females can lay unfertilized eggs that will hatch in a process called parthenogenesis or “virgin” reproduction. The team found genes that explain how this can happen.

(a song which memorably references parthenogenesis):

Yeah, I meant it as light hearted post. A friend of mine when we first met said something about us(world) blowing the planet up, what would survive if anything? He said "cockroaches?" That's what inspired me.

As a general rule we are not all the same.

Looking at the cosmos you find galaxies are not all the same, stars are not all the same, planets are not all the same.

However, like with humans, you find in space harmony stars between stars, galaxies between galaxies, planets between stars, and so forth. Same as well you'll find conflict between all those bodies. Collisions between galaxies, comets against planets, etc.

Not only the physical but also the behavior varies between bodies and particles in the entire universe.

We humans have invented laws to keep order somehow. These laws stand; the problem happens when these laws are applied, interpreted or enforced in a way different to the intention when these were invented.

In paper we are all to be treated equal.

In my opinion, what a waste of paper.
