Are scientists fundamentalists? Is scientism like a religion?

Yeah but the important thing is science actually works in every day life, we don't need faith.
I do not know how to pilot a jumbo but I have seen them take off and land a lot, the engineering science and technology works.
I can't run a nuclear power plant but I get my energy from it, scientists understand fission, it works.
I can't build a mobile phone but I make calls just fine.
My asthma drugs worked, scientists worked it out.
I do understand a little about NMR, ultra sound and X rays but not enough to build the kit, science does though, I've had a lot of diagnostic medicine and saw my son in the womb, science works we don't need faith.
Agriculture Ecology and medicine use the theory of Evolution all the time, the understand the theory, science works.
You've when off on one Pinball. You seem to be a fundie. Have you heard of scientism?

Most atheists/agnostics have blind faith.
You're just making that up. This is the sort of trap you end up in when you don't know how to go about finding out what is true.
You seem to be a fundie.
The idea of a fundamentalist scientist is a wild one, from my point of view.

Please explain what on Earth you mean by calling somebody who accepts science a "fundie". I'm fascinated to find out.
Have you heard of scientism?
Yes. Is there a problem with it?

Recall that this thread is on the religion forum, not the science forum.

The only valid publication for citations is the Bible. ;)
Stop kissing ass and talking crap. Fundie doesn't just include religious fruit cakes, they're godless fruitcakes.

We're in a thread talking about science.

Indeed I'm not making it up, are you insinuating that I'm lying? Clean your brain.

You must be blinded, I observe it all the time on here, for years.

One example. The so called scientists on here think science is the only way, which is unintelligent and short sighted, it reeks of fundie behaviour. Just like Muslims believe their book is infallible, the difference is science evolves books don't.

Yes. Is there a problem with it?

It's rife on this forum.

? If anyone was angry here, it was you, or at least very defensive.
Ok fair enough and my apologies. You joined the party a little late. My post was more to illustrate the difference between science and faith to Kermos, or rather to show observers how religion can brainwash, distort and pervert one's mind.

So yes, angry and frustrated BUT not with you.
No worries Pinball.

My input with the thread started with advice to the OP about the reliability of the BB theory.

Also, I mentioned that most people who believe in the BB don't actually know the basics. I know these people.

Can you see the bad science or observation?

You're a honest chap Pinball, I admire that.

The OP is claiming the Theory is nothing more than faith which is absurd. Attempts to even try and discuss it has turned into the usual creationist shit show.

That's fine, most people think science is Brian Cox talking about subjects on the BBC, areas he does not have expertise or research in knowledge in.

Do scientists get things wrong sometimes? Yes, they are human.

You're a honest chap Pinball, I admire that.
Thank you. Appreciated mate.
