Are Patients Important?

Ahhh... the tests are biased, did ya know?
Sometimes, yes. That's why they undergo review processes. It's not left to the companies to judge the quality of the studies and provide the approval for their own products. That's why the FDA regulations are in place.

But generally it is in the pharmaceutical company's best interest to make sure their products are safe and effective. Churning out erroneous studies only increases the risk of major lawsuits later on when the problems are discovered. Once again, simple self-interest provides a control.

Again, you have to remember that medicine is not an exact science. There are billions upon billions of variables that can affect the biological processes in a living system. There is no way anyone with any amount of research can account and control for all of them. Proper controls and research provide as much safety as we can get but there are always going to be things that cannot be accounted for. We can only assess that they will be safe for most of the people most of the time, there are no absolutes here.

There ARE major lawsuits going on! And, believe me, they can afford excellent lawyers to buy justice...

Yes there are. The public does not allow doctors to make mistakes.

In most cases you don't need a lot of money up front though. If the pharmaceutical company is at fault you probably have the case for a class action suit. And many lawyers will take malpractice suits on contingency, meaning that you don't have to pay anything up front but they'll take (a usually large) chunk of any money awarded.

I hate to break it to ya'll. But psychaitrists (sp???) are stupid in many ways. Over the psychaitriast stands the psychologist, who basically understands everything the psychait. does or even more... It is always best to see a psychologist first and keep seeing him, and see only the psychai. as must as you need to.

I said that to say this.

Psychaitriasts do not care about the paitent. The paitent is not very important as it is compared to the psychologist. If the psychi is also a psychologist or something like that, with psychoanalytical abilities, then it would be fine maybe. But that just takes me further:

Most psychaitrasts are dangerous because the way they do not understand the paitents needs. This goes to say that they do not fully understand you, they just talk to you.

I can definately see how the paitent would be not so important, however of course, they are.

The government only covers psychiatrists, who just give you pills supply by Big Pharma, so that both the psychiatrist and Big Pharma can win at the expense of the patient...

No kidding!

Yes, indeed. That's because they are trained to see you as a whole bunch of chemicals and to push drugs on you. It's not patient-centered - it's disease-centered. Ever watched Patch Adams? :)

I thought you wanted world peace? Surely world peace means that you don't denigrate an entire group of members of society, don't it?

Do unto others as..... Turn the other cheek. Do those mean anything in your ideal of world peace?

So you are saying I should just let terrorist kill people because I denigrate them? Are you serious?

Part of world peace is to actually strive for a better world. Sitting down and accepting everything the way they are is just useless! Certainly doesn't lead to world peace.

So that means that you'd try to change terrorists and "Big Pharma", huh? And how would you go about doing that? ...by telling them about your big dreams of "world peace"? ....LOL!!

I wouldn't say it is disease centered. I do not know psychaitry. I say that. But. I know they talk to you, and try surely to do the best that they can.... Like I said, there are some who are trained with psychoanalysis. This can help their way of 'diagnosising' the paitent. They do the best they can. But as a very un-serious note, that is ... bla bla bla about all they can do.

Hit me across the face and tell me how i did!
