Anyone concerned about solar flares/storms?

I've read that we are becoming better at predicting flares, so that would mean we would have some types of advance warning? I'm assuming governments are aware of the risk, and are working on precautions. Are electric companies ready? Sometimes, I wonder...if power goes out for days, weeks...in hurricane prone areas of the US, how much damage might a flare do?

Overall though, I'm not worried. :D

Not much we could do. We do not have the ability to shut down the power grid in a way that will protect it from damage from a big flare.
