Any helpful life hacks?

Sounds lovely. You are not far from Georgia, then. That would indeed be a mild climate. Like southern Oregon, possibly.

Yes, I've used polystyrene sheets like that. I've done a lot of carpentry and remodeling, on four different houses. Where I live now has very cold winters, more like Moscow, so we use a variety of insulating materials. If attics are not used they are often filled with several feet of loose fill cellulosic insulation which is basically composed of paper pulp treated with a flame retardant. There are companies that also make insulation from old denim jeans or even low grade sheep's wool, which comes in batts.

Ohhh. Yes, those are not moved easily. I've seen a brick house moved once, and it was very expensive and slow. The owner told me he could only do it because it was small. Some cities are doing it with famous historic houses, where the sea level is rising (or that district is sinking). In some places, they just raise the historic house and inject more concrete underneath it in order to lift it above potential flooding. Very expensive.

But, the odor. I’m thinking wooden sawdust-like chips wouldn’t absorb the odor of cat pee.

You can buy sawdust like cat litter in the store or online and one made entirely from grass.

Good one. Should we add, "and hold butter knife with thick work gloves" or is that obvious? :)

If you want a grape trellis (freestanding) and don't want to pay for those overpriced ones at Home Depot, just bind 3 garden stakes together at the top, like a teepee. You can use picture wire, monofilament, or even a paperclip.

Wouldn't it be easier to concrete the pipes and stretch a cable or wire between them?
Not really. Mine is very simple, no concrete needed. Push in stakes, bend tops together and tie top with a wire. Forms a tetrahedral shape. Five minutes.

OK, so TheVat's five minute trellis will only work for, say, 20 years before it needs a new trellis and another five minutes of work.

That’s what my grandfather did in the 1960s, to grow runner beans, using bamboo.

A few drops of white vinegar in damp armpits is an excellent deodorant - after years of rashes (and recurring odor) no matter the product used I heard about and tried this - just every few days to once a week seems to work well, better than dedicated deodorants. I think it must suppress the odor causing bacteria. Not an anti-perspirant, but I've never been convinced perspiration is the terrible thing advertising insists it is. Being smelly is.

Similar problem with itchy scalp - now I rinse/wash my hair with water most days and use ordinary soap every few days, finishing off with scalp massaging to release clean natural oils back onto the hairs (under warm/hot shower that happens easily and quickly) rather than use products.

20 years is unlikely. The grapes will completely entwine it in a few years, and you will not be able to untangle them and remove them without damage. And I can hardly imagine such a structure for grapes. The bunches are heavy, it is not for nothing that reinforced concrete trellis poles are used for grapes in large vineyards. But for cucumbers, or anything else climbing, such a structure would probably be suitable.
These are small wild grape plants growing along the parking strip (Br. "verge"), so this does fine for them. I am not cultivating a vineyard.

In middle school science class we learned the colors of the visible spectrum as "Rugged old Yankees Go Bathing in Vinegar."
