Yes, and the good news is that in the US only 1 million people died from COVID. Only a 25% increase in deaths from all causesWhew, that's good news. Good thing I missed it. Gotta love those speedyscamdemicspandemics.
More than 1 million people, or 1 in every 331 Americans, have died of COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The virus has not been equally fatal for all Americans. Black people, Native Americans and white people hold a higher percentage of COVID-19 deaths than their share of the US population. Americans 65 and older were more than 80% of all deaths from the virus in the first year of the pandemic. And while the Northeast and Midwest were hit hard by COVID-19 in 2020, deaths from the virus were more evenly distributed around the country since then.
How were COVID-19 deaths different by race or ethnicity?
At the start of the pandemic, Black people were the hardest-hit racial or ethnic group, accounting for 16% of pandemic deaths in 2020 even though they make up 12% of the population. Native Americans are also a higher percentage of COVID-19 deaths than their share of the overall population.
While white people in the US had lower death rates from COVID-19 in the first year of the pandemic, that’s no longer the case. From 2021 through May 2022, white people had a higher percentage of COVID-19 deaths than their share of the overall population. Making up less than 60% of the US population, white people made up 65% of all COVID-19 deaths.
Black and Native Americans maintained a higher percentage of deaths from the virus throughout the pandemic.
Oh my god! 1 million people?! Holy hell. I was wondering what the hell happened to all the traffic on the road. Ya know, I was driving through Dallas just the other day and I was like where in the hell is every one?! I guess that explains why the hiking trails in Mount Zion, Grand Canyon, Sedona Arizona, Glacier National Park, Banf Canada, and Yellowstone have been so empty lately. Well, on the bright side at least there’s no more traffic jams or parking lots on the freeway, and I don’t have to wait in line to take a selfie in front of that iconic scenery on the hiking trails.Yes, and the good news is that in the US only 1 million people died from COVID. A lot of deaths may have been attributable to lack of local testing facilities, early in the pandemic.
It may be noteworthy that Trump shipped 2 COVID testing facilities to his buddy Putin in Russia.
Ahh yes, the ole covid vaccine. lol. Now there’s a funny story.Glad you missed it, 7 million died but that would have been a lot higher if the vaccines had not worked.
It would appear that way. It must not have been that significant. I guess the same way I miss many, many more millions that die from other reasons every year. Oh well. What can ya do eh?A global pandemic that killed millions and you missed it?
Ya know, maybe it’s just a coincidence, but believe it or not it did, but it was just another virus in a long line of viruses. It wasn’t really considered a major pandemic. Just another one of those pesky illnesses. So it didn't hit your planet?
I suppose it had no effect on you or any members of your family. You've been blessed and are privileged. It would appear that way. It must not have been that significant. I guess the same way I miss many, many more millions that die from other reasons every year. Oh well. What can ya do eh?
Oh yeah. We all had that covid thingy. Big whoop. Next…I suppose it had no effect on you or any members of your family. You've been blessed and are privileged.
If you had that COVID thingy, it may just cost you a few years of your life. COVID destroys lungs.Oh yeah. We all had that covid thingy. Big whoop. Next…
COVID-19 can cause lung complications such as pneumonia and, in the most severe cases, acute respiratory distress syndrome, or ARDS. Sepsis, another possible complication of COVID-19, can also cause lasting harm to the lungs and other organs. Newer coronavirus variants may also cause more airway disease, such as bronchitis, that may be severe enough to warrant hospitalization.
“As we have learned more about SARS-CoV-2 and resulting COVID-19, we have discovered that in severe COVID-19, a significant pro-inflammatory condition can result in several critical diseases, complications and syndromes,” Galiatsatos says.
Uh oh. So if I would’ve lived to be a hundred I may only live to be 97? Well crap. That could’ve been the most valuable years of my life. Ya know, now that I think about it, I have noticed this wheezy sound in my chest. If you had that COVID thingy, it may just cost you a few years of your life. COVID destroys lungs.

A similar story in the UK unfortunately. My hillbilly cousins refused to get vaxxed. Then when one of them died they blamed the government. I wonder who they'll blame next year? Oh, yeah, "the libbruls".
Well you could have got vaccinated and given yourself and those around you some protection. That is what vaccines do.Oh well. What can ya do eh?
No, it is not just about life expectancy. You come across as someone who has never read any of the literature regarding this, ever.Uh oh. So if I would’ve lived to be a hundred I may only live to be 97? Well crap. That could’ve been the most valuable years of my life
