Cherry picking a tiny segment of a larger quote to try and support your argument... rather sad, but not unexpected.

    Native american history month

Let's find more ways to divide people?
Perhaps, that effort is counter productive?

Do you know the context of how Morgan Freeman said it?

You know, since you're throwing that out there..

WALLACE: How are we going to get rid of racism until …?

FREEMAN: Stop talking about it. I’m going to stop calling you a white man. And I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You’re not going to say, “I know this white guy named Mike Wallace.” Hear what I’m saying?

In other words, you're doing it wrong.

If you are going to apply his logic, then you even mentioning the colour of his skin or insinuating it, is what ensures racism does not go away.

Something something about context goes here.

His point is that skin colour should never factor into it. His point is that society should not even mention skin colour or "race". But that is not how society works, is it?

Driver's licence mentions race and skin colour. Any form you fill in, will mention race. Medical forms? Race. Rental form? Race. Bank loan? Race. See how it works now? You now 'hearing what he's saying'?

    You know.. Context..

    Uh huh..

The former acting chief of a Kentucky police department instructed a police recruit to shoot black teenagers on sight if caught smoking marijuana, according to court documents.

“Fuck the right thing. If black shoot them,” assistant chief Todd Shaw wrote in response to a younger officer’s query, part of what the Jefferson County attorney’s office described as a pattern of “highly disturbing racist and threatening Facebook messages” from Shaw.

In the same exchange about shooting black teenagers, the recruit, whose name was redacted in the court documents, asked what to do with the teens’ parents in such a scenario. Shaw responded: “If mom is hot then fuck her. If dad is hot then handcuff him and make him suck my dick. Unless daddy is black. Then shoot him.”

In another exchange the unnamed recruit joked he would buy up all the properties around Shaw’s home and rent to “section 8”, a low-income housing voucher program. Shaw replied “I like thugs sex anyways” and “I need target practice”.

The two also made racist comments about pictures they exchanged, as in one where the recruit posted a picture of a black man and woman with afros. The recruit asked: “Does this hair make it look like I have a gun in my hand?” to which Shaw replied: “To me, yes”.

In your twisted world, black people should not complain about or even discuss this because to do so would be racist, right?

In your realm of existence, that "ain't about race"..

Sculptor's contention is so far removed from psychology, or sociology, anthropology, or any behavioral science, for that matter. If anything, it seems like an utterly confused and preposterous reading of Nietzsche or something:
Neverminding that Nietzsche was talking about something else entirely...

Ironically, there's something of a reaffirmation of the "masculine American man" in all this--

--in such a way that sculptor, et al might (I should hope) find abhorrent, and yet their insistent and repeated denials essentially bolster this mentality by attempting to sweep our "focussing on race" under the rug.

This thread has drifted off topic, as was probably inevitable.

It seems that a number of posters are unable to discuss race or racism without name-calling and labelling other members. Personal insults are being thrown around on both sides here. Rather than warn all the people involved, I think the best thing is to close the thread and to hope that people can show more maturity next time the topic comes up.

So far, the evidence is otherwise.
When race is the "delineating factor" in some phenomenon or event, describing the event without focusing on it as the delineating factor is an error.
And there are thousands of other things about any individual the police could focus on, when deciding whether or not to shoot them. But they don't, see - hence the problem.
And when you do that - as Dr Toad did above, posting about BLM as coincident with black people and the category as "them" and "they", or Sculptor did above in twisting some stats - your behavior is racist.
And things would be better if that were also true of black men when the police show up.
So when the police are held to account for failing to treat black men according to that principle, we will all be better off.
So you support the NFL kneeldowns, advocating for your principles in opposition to the current treatment of black men.
