Can Elon Musk claim some sort of partial or full refund from the Republican party?
Elon was innocently enough thinking, that when buying the party, he should at least have more control of it.

Will Mr Trump undo all those horrible job losses and cuts to government departments which Elon, with Trump given authority, brought about?

Mr Trump is now burdened finding another multi-billionaire patsy.

We can only hope the nursery will be filled again with laughter and chuckles, when the two toddlers run out of toys to throw at each other, and become friends again.

They already spent it on the wall.

He did, he did DOGE and now that job is finished.

He will rehire the ones he thinks he needs like he has already done.

Is he mates with Beso?

They may need a marriage guidance counselor, the Big Beautiful bill and the Epstein comments really hurt.

It’s like Elon bought a job. And expected nothing else like contracts from a Republican government.
And a little more say:

I wonder if Trump would like a free space hop for one or more of his family.

If Musk really does have OCD (and that's a speculative if), then it's inevitable that he'll sabotage himself by being unable to keep quiet about certain things.

As a child, he got beat up and hospitalized because he was insensitive to a schoolmate's parent dying, calling the other boy's sentimentality "stupid". Elon's father revealed years later that his son called people "stupid" in all kinds of inappropriate contexts, and much of the friction he had with members of Trump's administration consisted of that habit.

Perhaps that also stems from a similar conjecture that he has Asperger's. Musk himself stated such during an appearance on Saturday Night Live years ago, but had actually never been officially diagnosed (like the OCD). It was a trend then for tech magnates and lesser industry figures to claim they were neurodivergent.

I remember when that started as almost a fad, with people on the spectrum viewed with the most flattering lens of "just a different cognitive style." And then the trend to start assigning Asperger's to anyone with social awkwardness or eccentricity or who favored low-stim ambiences. Could it be Musk is just your classic neurotypical jerk? But if that was his narrative then he'd have to own up to being a jerk, without the autism excuse to lean on.

I'm still baffled that so many continue to maintain that Musk is, in some sense, "smart"--at what? His business acumen is mediocre, I've yet to see anything that suggests he is particularly bright with respect to maths or sciences, and even his SAT scores weren't terribly impressive (can't find a source at the moment, but it was under 1400 iirc). He sold a game for the VIC 20 to a computer magazine when he was a kid--big deal! What is it that he is supposedly so clever at?

Yes, Elon being able to control his own businesses to a greater extent, is possibly masking his OCD?

But, working in a government and finding himself having to take other views equally serious, may have brought on his rantings against Mr Trump and party
Maybe it's SBS… Spoiled brat syndrome?

I'd say a combination of his business acumen (which isn't remarkable but he is competent) and his technical understanding of issues sufficient to guide that acumen.

After the killing made from Zip2, I suppose it does boil down to Elon's skills at seducing and manipulating powerful audiences and potential investors, on the road to becoming [intermittently] the richest individual on Earth. Making him more a master orchestrator than the technical genius that the skeptical old quip below is arguably applicable to.
Though Elon being alienated from his lower echelon prosperous dad perhaps made him more self-made than Trump... Zip2 might still not have happened without money borrowed from Elon's father. But his brother Kimbal (that he was partnered with, along with Greg Kouri) might have been instrumental in obtaining that. IF Kimbal had a better relationship with Errol Musk than Elon. (Nah, Elon was so obsessed with and driven by his long-term outer space desires that he would have alternatively sought and somehow convinced a non-family source to loan and gamble.)

Yep, in contrast to Greta Thunberg, Elon lacks noble crusader status. He would remain in Sheldon Cooper[1] limbo, even if he received a diagnosis of AS and OCD. (Wouldn't be allowed to count as an exemption.)

[1] Come up with a new theory: Well, majority may rule, but the writer is king. Big Bang co-creator Bill Prady knows the character better than we do, and Prady said Sheldon does not have Asperger's. TV scribe Alan Sepinwall spoke with Prady at the TCA's and got it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. So did Joel. Prady was amused that so many people had glommed onto the theory that Sheldon's idiosyncracies added up to Asperger's, a form of autism. However, Prady never had the syndrome in mind when the character was created. If he had wanted him to be an Aspie, he and Chuck Lorre would have spelled it out from the get-go.
