I know some of you live in countries with strict Internet controls in place (Russia, Iran and China come to mind). Here is some advice on busting the censorship blockade.
Step 1 - Buy a cheap VPS.
Why do you want a cheap vps? Dont use the normal big VPN providers, they are all monitored and likely blocked. Find a cheap VPS in a country that your country doesnt have sanctions with and which has open Internet. For instance, South Africa (or any other neutral 3rd party country) .
Depending on your country you can buy a VPS for as low as $12 for a year (or depending on if you sanctioned or not), you can get a free VPS from Oracle.
Step 2 - Use AmneziaVPN
This is a great little open source package. What it will do is connect to your vps via SSH and automatically configure it to be a VPN. What makes it nifty is not only is it your VPN server, but it can also be your encrypted DNS server. There are at least 4 protocols that Amnezia VPN offers that are censorship resistant. IE, Xray, openvpn+cloak and their own protocol called Amnezia.
It comes with other tools like automatically being able to make wordpress websites on the tor network and does split tunneling if you need to do work on a work VPN.
Step 3 - Connect AmneziaVPN to VPS
Thats it, just fill in the login details of the VPS you just bought and Amnezia does the rest. Auto configures it to whatever security protocol you chose. Make sure you have the killsiwtch set to cover your asses if the VPN drops. Try install Amnezia DNS on the VPS and only use that DNS. That way all DNS requests and all traffic are obfuscated
There are other ways to bypass censorship. One way thats almost always sure to work is to use a socks5 proxy with SSH. SSH is almost never blocked. You can do this with Bitvise SSH client and a VPS (or ssh access to a server somewhere). https://bitvise.com/ssh-client
There is also other censorship busting vpns (they have special cloaked tunnel options) such as Mullvad and Windscribe. Though I recommend AmneziaVPN over them. If you can get Amnezia working, dont bother with the others.
