Yes but I'd also point out that they had worms in and lend you a knife to cut out the bad bits.

Probably Feynman's Six Easy Pieces, (I think). He deduced Newton's laws of gravitation from scratch geometrically... It showed that there's more tahn one way to skin a cat and if the methodology is correct you can approach a scientific question from any number of angles.
