Whilst reading through [French] Cosmopolitan, I got a bit stuck.
Does the phrase 'une paire de palmes' have another, less obvious, meaning? Because it doesn't really make sense in the context I found it in.

Officially, Lisa is a make-up artist. But if, in the middle of her powders and brushes, you see a pair of palms, that's normal. She never leaves them, there might be a swimming pool nearby.
Perhaps armbands or something?
