Well, here in the physics forum, relativity has been the bees knees for the past few months. To be honest, it was interesting at first and has now been severely watered down. I am proposing creating a subforum within Physics & Math just for relativity and discussion of other theories of the sort. That would allow for more posts of general physics and mathematics topics without them being smothered by the relativity giant. Any help would be appreciated.

In the begining there was Usenet. And the Sekrit Cabal saw it was good and there was much rejoicing across the Net. After time passed the groups became more specialised and the kooks started appearing. Then came the Great Renaming and the Sekrit Cabal saw it was good. First there was the sci.* hierarchy, then came sci.physics but the kooks did pollute that august forum with drivel on why Relativity had had its last day. So it came to pass that sci.physics.relativity and sci.physics.new-theories where born to contain the kooks. But this was not enough.

So it came to pass that sarcasm and alt.usenet.kooks where created to lambast them. So sayeth Thed, Skepticult member

I voted no. And it was an emphatic no, so if a mod or someone could just add an extra no vote or 2 to adequately represent the force with which I wielded my no vote that would be great.
Thnx.

I voted to just have the kooks shot. And it was an emphatic vote... but doesn't seem to have appeared. If a mod could just add that option and put 10 or 20 votes in it would be great. (Also, start a poll on which members have guns).
Thnx.

I voted: "Wait! I have a better idea (see below)"

I think a better subforums would be "Cosmology" for example, which would include more things besides relativity.

Physics is a very broad subject. Even Math is. But physics can be classical, astrophysics, quantum physics, subatomic particle physics ..... We could even have all those subforums if there were enough people discussing all those things. But unfortunately, most people seem to spend their time in the cesspool. I wonder why.... :D
