Refried beans?What was the problem?

No "pew pew" sounds and no "zzzzzzoom!" sounds in the vacuum of space. A complaint of hard core sci-fi fans for all time. What was the problem?
In space no one can hear your fart. But it certainly taxes your spacesuit's air supply system.Refried beans?
I've got much more interesting scientific problems with sci-fi programs. They don't keep me awake at night. Too far below the 51st state question on my priorities list.No "pew pew" sounds and no "zzzzzzoom!" sounds in the vacuum of space. A complaint of hard core sci-fi fans for all time.
Why not? I've listened to the sounds of Saturn with my head phones. Maybe I'm daft, but I don't get it.No "pew pew" sounds and no "zzzzzzoom!" sounds in the vacuum of space. A complaint of hard core sci-fi fans for all time.
Saturn has radio emissions. Those radio waves are converted to sound by a human-built radio receiver so that you can listen to them. Radio waves travel through vacuum, sound does not.Why not? I've listened to the sounds of Saturn with my head phones. Maybe I'm daft, but I don't get it.
You don't really think that's sound that's being transmitted across the vacuum of space do you?Why not? I've listened to the sounds of Saturn with my head phones. Maybe I'm daft, but I don't get it.
No, I'm daft to be certain. Sometimes by choice, other times by the natural daftness present in me as an individual raised and educated by our public school systems, or maybe it's due to my personal style of ignorance. My acuity has never been that of a scientific nature. I'm better attuned to the arts and religion, although I have great respect for the scientific fields of study. I've simply applied myself to other disciplines. By the way, head phones are great and tv as well as the movies require similar signals to be processed through the speaker systems, so your point is relatively moot,Saturn has radio emissions. You're not daft, but maybe should consider suing your public school system wherever you were raised.
Moot? You were the one saying you could hear the sounds of Saturn. The misconception did seem in need of mending.By the way, head phones are great and tv as well as the movies require similar signals to be processed through the speaker systems, so your point is relatively moot,
Which is why you're here, right? To remedy ignorance and add some basic science knowledge to your cognitive toolkit? And I would suspect that even the most arty of artists benefit from discerning the difference between electromagnetic waves and sound waves. My acuity has never been that of a scientific nature.
