Today marks 24 years(2001) or so since the twin tower attack. We had no idea it would cause so much crap.

I was in London, going back home on train, looking up at the sky's and wondering "Is it going to happen here too?"... it did on 7/7 2005.

Can you remember where you were?

The ugly side of religion. Or was it an inside job? The smaller building, World Trade Center 7 looked like a controlled explosion.

I concede, I'm not 100% sure, say 20% inside job.

I was asleep in San Diego. My girlfriend woke me up (she was working in Boston) to ask if I had made it home OK.

8 hours before that I was in the air, flying back from Boston. I almost missed the flight because I was wasting time with the above mentioned girlfriend. (Now my wife.) Then we almost didn't get out due to weather.

The next flight out the next morning would have been American Airlines flight 11.

Sure can. Like where I was when I heard about the Challenger Disaster. They call them Flashbulb Moments - burned into your brain.

I wasn't near a plane that day, but I was on a plane flying home from Scotland on the 10th anniversary - Sept 11, 2011.

I remarked that I had never felt safer. They'd be idiots to try something on the anniversary - security was at a maximum.

I remember exactly where I was. I stayed up all night watching the live coverage on TV, which Australian TV was streaming from US channels (it was night time in Australia, where I was). I watched the whole thing unfold from the time of the reports of the first plane hitting the WTC.

Really? You have had more than 20 years to get to the bottom of what happened to WTC7, and you still think it was an inside job? Do your homework.

It was such an epic moment in history it was barely believable at the time. I can't remember what I was doing on 7/7/2005 when terrorists struck London.

Same as my brother he was glued to the screen, I think he got home early that day.

Not really looked into it, I don't entertain conspiracy theories, but last I saw there was a recording of a person, builder or something giving the okay for the explosion around the time of 9/11. Must admit the footage I saw looked like a controlled explosion.

I haven't looked at it for seventeen years or so.

But you're saying you think there's a 20% chance that WTC7 collapsed due to a conspiracy.

You're not thinking about the radio message from one of the fire chiefs to "pull it", are you?

That was in relation to the main towers of the WTC and it referring to getting fire fighters out of the building, not to any demolition order.

I see.

How many controlled demolitions have you personally helped to organise, or supervise? How many other ones have you personally witnessed?

And how many 100-floor buildings have you witnessed collapsing due to planes crashing into them?

You're an expert on controlled explosions, are you? You're qualified to tell the difference, without needing any outside expertise?

Yes I remember where I was for both events. At work, in London, at the Waterloo office. For 9/11 it was a month before I got married. For the London bombings the chief thing I recall was that the phone lines were jammed with people calling to check their loved ones were safe. But the London ones were not much different from the IRA bombings we used to have before, so nothing like as traumatic as 9/11 was.
 
I was in Macclesfield in the lab, one of the guys came in and said, "America is under attack."
We all went to the canteen to get to the TV.
Watching the footage still gives me chills.

Pretty certain I was in the lab for 7/7 too, I spent a while trying to get through to my girlfriend who was visiting friends in London at the time.

The MEN one was a bit close for comfort, not just because it was in Manchester, but because my niece had already been that year and had tried to get tickets for Ariana Grande, luckily she was unsuccessful.
Luckily for me I found all that out after the event.

There is a memorial in Victoria station, pictures of all the kids that died, flowers and stuff.

The traced all 19 terrorists Dave, Bin Laden gloated about doing it.
The "explosions" you see are the immense pressure releases as the building collapsed.
A huge building such as the WTC, with aviation fuel burning through it for an hour will destabilise the entire structure. Heat and gravity.

This was in Brazil, no planes required, just a big fire and time.
