40 year's of monty python philosophy

I was just wondering what everyone else though of Monty Python philosophy?
Love 'em. Although I find their work a little uneven and haven't loved absolutely everything they did. But that's how creativity works.

"The Meaning of Life" is one of my all-time favorite films. "There's a 'Mr. Death' at the door--something to do with a 'reaping'?"

Even their "serious" work is wonderful. John Cleese did a series of management training films. One of them was titled "Meetings, Bloody Meetings." He walked into a company just as the staff was heading off for a meeting and asked one of the employees what the purpose of the meeting was. He sputtered in reply, "Well it's the weekly meeting! We have it every week!"

Eric Idle (I think it was) did a public-television series in which he traveled "around the world in 80 days," limiting himself to transportation technology that was available when the original story was written. In one episode he was taking a very boring voyage from the Orient to the USA on a cargo ship stacked high with crates. He started his narrative with, "As I enjoy the sunset, peering over America's negative balance of payments..."

I pretty much love everything they did.

From the Flyng Circus, to their live shows, to their movies. Maybe not " Brazil " so much though.

P.S.
Michael Palin did " Around the world in 80 days"

Peace,
Gremmie.;)

You have seen the management video's as well? - It's a small world.

People don't appreciate the full extent Monty Python has had on the UK managers and their fans.....

Are you saying that in the U.K. the people who needed to see those films actually saw them??? I was the only manager in the whole room, and I didn't need it!

Oh?
I suppose you have something else you'd raaather be doing eh??!

Right. Off you go.

I do think their (well, Cleese's) portrayal of Accountants was a strong factor in the majority of society now regarding them negatively. :)
