You have been misinformed, paddo ol' boy!
Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein was published in 1931, the authors coming from many different angles. There were Jewish authors in it too, notably Immanuel Lasker the famous chess player - though unfortunately none were able to deflect the Cosmic Commode's content which Einstein directed - and still directs - at us. Check and mate again eh, paddoboy!

What river means by "investigate in depth" is "read sources that agree with pre-formed largely uninformed beliefs and don't ever learn any actual science or technology".
That way his version of what Ben Rich actually meant stays intact.

    Mental Health Daily:

4 Types of Delusions & Extensive List of Themes:

Delusions are considered inaccurate beliefs held by an individual, (typically with a mental illness), regardless of logical evidence disproving the belief. A delusion differs from a belief that is held based on insufficient information or perceptual feedback. An example of a non-deluded belief was when scientists initially thought that the Earth was the center of the solar system in the 4th century BCE.

As they gained new scientific insight into space with new technology (16th century), they updated their previously held false belief. Based on the accumulated scientific knowledge, we all now know that the Sun is in fact the center of the solar system. Someone that still believes [with conviction] that the Earth is the center of the solar system, despite significant evidence to the contrary, would be “deluded” in their thought.

Although a majority of delusions manifest as a result of excess dopaminergic activity, it is difficult to pinpoint the specific neurochemical abnormalities responsible for every delusion. In addition to positive symptoms of schizophrenia, delusions may occur in cases of psychotic depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, as well as those who abuse illicit drugs.

    1. Certainty: Individuals that hold delusions are certain in their beliefs; they believe with 100% conviction that they are real, despite significant logical evidence to the contrary.
    2. Incorrigibility: Those with delusions will not update their false beliefs even if presented with overwhelming logical evidence suggesting that the opposite is true. Despite scientific evidence to suggest that their way of thinking is flawed, they aren’t able to escape their deluded perception.
    3. Impossibility: The delusion that a person holds is not only untrue, but generally impossible or highly implausible to be true. Some of the delusions may not only seem like an obvious impossibility, but they may seem highly bizarre.
    http://mentalhealthdaily.com/2015/04/29/types-of-delusions-extensive-list-of-themes/
    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Delusions Of Grandeur: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment:

Delusions of grandeur are false beliefs held by an individual in which they believe with full conviction that they are a celebrity, person of high rank, omnipotent, and/or a powerful entity – despite significant evidence to the contrary. Imagine waking up one day thinking that you’re the president of the United States, despite the fact that you’re homeless and living on the streets. This would be an example of a grandiose delusion – your perceived sense of importance becomes inflated for no legitimate reason.

The grandiose delusions are often associated with fictional, religious, or supernatural themes. A person suffering from delusions of grandeur may believe that they deserve public recognition as the human incarnation of Jesus Christ. Individuals afflicted with these types of delusions often have diagnosable psychiatric conditions such as: bipolar disorder, delusional disorder, or schizophrenia.

    What causes delusions of grandeur?

Brain anatomy: Delusions may be a result of anatomical abnormalities in the brain. Research has suggested that the amygdala, fronto-striatal circuits, and parietal cortices are most likely to play a role in the development of delusions. Anatomical abnormalities can lead to processing errors in these regions, which can perception and make an individual more prone to delusions.

Brain injuries: Those that have endured a brain injury or multiple brain injuries may be more prone to delusions. Although injuries to any area of the brain may increase delusional susceptibility, the frontal lobes are most commonly linked to delusions of grandeur.

    • Frontal lobes: Individuals that have lesions in the frontal lobes are known to be increasingly susceptible to delusions of grandeur.
    • Temporal lobes: Those with lesions of the temporal lobes may be more likely to experience delusions of grandeur.
Drugs: Those that have used or abused drugs may experience delusions of grandeur as a side effect. This is particularly common in cases of drug-induced psychosis. Those that experience delusions of grandeur upon ingestion of drugs often have taken a stimulatory agent that affects dopamine. The drastic increase of dopamine may provoke a stimulant-psychosis characterized by elevated mood and grandiose delusions.

It should also be mentioned that some individuals may be susceptible to experiencing grandiose delusions during drug withdrawal. An example of a drug that is known to induce mania is that of levodopa (L-Dopa), a medication utilized among those with Parkinson’s to treat cognitive impairment. Most drugs that cause delusions of grandeur tend to simultaneously induce a manic or hypomanic state.

Encephalitis: Those experiencing Japanese encephalitis, a condition characterized by brain inflammation, have been reported as exhibiting delusions of grandeur. These delusions were accompanied by other symptoms including: euphoria, assaultive behaviors, and sometimes seizures. It is possible that other cases of encephalitis may also result in delusions of grandeur.

Genetics: It has been suggested that certain genetic polymorphisms may result in delusions of grandeur. In particular, researchers believe that polymorphisms of genes related to dopamine receptors are the culprit. Some studies point out that paranoid schizophrenia and delusional disorders may stem from HLA (human leukocyte antigen) genes, which could influence grandiose delusions.

Hemispheric activation: In early studies of individuals with delusions, it was believed that the delusions were caused by overactivation or underactivation of a particular hemisphere. First, researchers speculated that right hemisphere impairment was the predominant cause of delusions. Upon further analysis, it appears that the actual cause of delusions stems from excessive activity in the left hemisphere.

Neurotransmitter concentrations: Those with abnormally high concentrations of certain neurotransmitters may result in delusions of grandeur. It is believed that high dopamine levels are responsible for causing delusions, especially among individuals with schizophrenia. For this reason, professionals administer atypical antipsychotics which act as dopamine antagonists.

Receptor density: The densities of receptors for neurotransmitters may play a role in facilitating delusional states. One theory is that certain regions of the brain lack adequate dopaminergic receptors, thus leading to an overabundance of dopamine and causing delusions and/or hallucinations. Those with reductions in receptor density, particularly of dopamine may be increasingly susceptible to delusions of grandeur.

The years 1930 and 1931 had been good for Hitler politically. The Nazis were now the second largest political party in Germany. Hitler had become a best-selling author, with Mein Kampf selling over 50,000 copies, bringing him a nice income. The Nazi Party also had fancy new headquarters in Munich called the Brown House.

Not close enough by any measure! Hitler did not come to power until January 1933. Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein contained non-Nazi authors (including Jews) so is an entirely pre-Nazi document. The Nazis could not control book publication until after they came to power. The SPD continued operating and publishing until January 1933, as did the Communist Party there, as well as secular and religious organizations. Why not try to think about the issue - instead of parroting like a cocky the pro-Einstein BS on the internet?

Definitely not - rather it reveals your own perverted agenda: i.e. to create the POLARIZING fantasy that Einstein is good; Nazis are evil; therefore ONLY Nazis attacked Einstein. I.e. your basic agenda is BS & to propagandize this BS on Einstein's behalf.

PS: And the issue here is about Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein having also non- and anti-Nazi roots, not Hitler's earnings in the pre-Nazi period, which would obviously have to be considerable since people had to be won over to him first.

I really don't mean to upset you but that is wrong. I have no agenda nor any delusions of grandeur affliction.
    What I said is correct.
    No you miss the point.

Einstein was a Jew. Hitler's "fondness" of Jews was well known.
Hence his silly little hundred authors against Einsten, and of course the great man's rather wise retort.
And Of course I don't need to convince any normal person of the greatness and brilliance of Einstein. That is accepted by normal people.

This may not make you happy, but wrong again.
This thread is about Einstein Cranks as the title infers.
It discusses the agendas people that rant and rave against the great man have......Including religious agendas, which so far two posters have been shown to be guilty of.
The other is more a sickness than an agenda I will admit, but still it needs to be discussed out in the open.
You'll feel better in the end for doing it.

    I had written of paddoboy's
And I had even named one of the Jewish authors in this 1931 published book - Immanuel Lasker. Nevertheless, paddoboy, in total ignorance of the context of the writing of this book, replies:

Normal people? I.e. the masses = halfwits manipulated by MSM (mainstream mass media).

I can only infer from your words, p'boy, that you consider Hitler to have somehow manipulated the minds of the Jewish authors in that book to write against Einstein - even though he was not in power then and could not hold a gun to their heads! I wonder how relatives of these Jewish authors - including Immanuel Lasker - would feel about your baseless assertion as to their collaboration with Hitler - or mind control by Hitler - to attack Einstein??

Hence I don't need to respond further. Nor will I report your post for its libellously false inference. But no doubt this forum has some Jewish members - I'll let them look into the facts and take up this argument with you. But if they do, then I must warn them beforehand that you have the option of asserting that they are being manipulated by neo-Nazis!

Normal people...You know, those that don't spend their time in crankdom, that don't have delusions of grandeur, that are not fanatically obsessed with trying to deride that which they obviously are not able to do and certainly not qualified to do.

Bingo! Now you're doing better! Probably far worse than manipulate I suggest...threatened most likely.
Libellously false inference??? Pot, kettle, black somehow comes to mind.

Happily for all I have found Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein online (it was published in Germany but has now been preserved under Austrian literature).

    Here is the link!

    http://www.literature.at/viewer.alo?objid=17088&viewmode=fullscreen&scale=3.33&rotate=&page=7

The first author is one Walter del-Negro from Salzburg, presumably - according to paddoboy logic - some Nazi-in-disguise. So come on, mein Liebchen paddoboy, dig up all the hundreds of pro-Nazi references in the text and paste or copy them online for us to read.

I had never heard of this Del-Negro guy so I looked him up. The de.wikipedia.org entry (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Del-Negro#cite_note-1) had this, (pardon the google translation):

    Factory [Edit]
Del Negro-authored six monographs and philosophical essays 34. In addition there are publications from the fields of geography and art history. In the 1930s, he sympathized with the Nazis, what is "the philosophy of the present in Germany" from 1942 was reflected, inter alia, in the publication. [1]

His geoscientific publications show a special interest in the construction of the Northern Limestone Alps. Site studies in the Gaisberg group he has performed with 80 years still himself. He came to the attention of a larger body through the 1950 published book on the geology.

I also see that Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein was written in 1931.

I also found a book (Value-free Sience?: Purity and Power in Modern Knowledge, by Robert Proctor, page 172-173) where it says:

More common was the argument that the Jews were to blame for the malaise of German Philosophy. Walter Del-Negro, a party member since 1938 -- the year the Nazis annexed Austria -- blamed the Jews not just for the turn toward liberalism and individualism but also for the philosophical movements such as neo-Kantianism, phenomenology, [ ... ]

[...] Del-Negro predicted that the Nazis would sweep away this unhealthy rot in German philosophy -- the "skeptical relativism," the exaggerated individualism," the "ill-founded mysticism." National Socialists would restore the wholeness to German philosophy, establishing what he called "the New Synthesis." [...]

And there was more but I will leave it at this. Kind of sounds like a Nazi to me. Not too odd given the times. Strange that you picked him as your example. While perhaps he was not officially a Nazi when the Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein was published. He probably was always an anti-semite. I have noticed that many (not all) websites that are anti-Einstein seem to have a particular anti-semitic odor about them.

    • Antisemitism and other such prejudice will NOT be tolerated...
The first author of the 100 doesn't matter one bit, cheezle, since it's 1931 not 1938. There was more than one Jewish author in the collection, hence the work was NOT a Nazi publication...
...but indicates that there were Jews too who were disgusted at the nonsense that Einstein was leading to. No doubt you'll find other authors that would later join the Nazis or were already Nazis (e.g. Philipp Lenard) - I never denied that - but the point is that there were Jewish authors in the book too, disqualifying paddoboy's ridiculous claims absolutely! The time of publication (1931) and the presence of Jews among the authors indicate that this is NOT a Nazi publication.

If you'd bother to read Jerry Docherty & Jim McGregor's Hidden History that shows how Britain started WW1 - preparing it for over 15 years - you might curb your prejudicial presumptions about Germany given her victimization thru the War Guilt Clause imposed by the Allies at the end of WW1. Many German Jews were shocked and enraged by that event too! The point is that most Germans - other than the extreme left - sympathized with the Far Right due to the West's victimization of them and their fear of Bolshevism, hence one would expect MOST of the 100 authors (or at least the German-Austrian ones), educated people, to be people "of the political right", not necessarily Nazi but still sympathetic to them since there were many other right-wing strands from 1919-1933.

Unfortunately, Einstein's unhealthy rot was not swept away - and so once again we are at the verge of another World War fundamentally due to the Einstein-induced failure to solve the energy crisis (i.e. Einstein's mathematicized misinterpretations of nature being taken as the correct theoretical approach to nuclear fusion research)! As for the Jewish pollution of philosophy - that's Einstein - but Western philosophy was already badly polluted without Jews and before Einstein came along.

    FOLZONI

PS: Had Western philosophy not been badly polluted philosophers and scientists could have seen through Einstein's BS - but that task has been left to our day, the era of Capitalism's decline & demise.

I'm not really wanting to be involved in this debate. I just did some reading because it is an interesting subject and noted some tidbits here. I did not read Hidden History but I have heard that argument before. I did read The Reaction to Relativity Theory in Germany, III: "A Hundred Authors against Einstein" by Hubert Goenner which was quite dismissive of the anti-Einstein book. You can find this work in the book: The Attraction of Gravitation: New Studies in the History of General Relativity page 248.

In the book, 28 signed, short contributed statements against relativity theory (special or general) were collected. A list of 92 further authors declared by the editors to be opponents [of Einstein] is given, 20 of whom had already died. Of the 92 authors, another 19 were selected and presented with excerpts opposing the theory of relativity.

It goes on to point out all the mistakes and misconceptions in the book. It is a harsh critique. It makes me wonder why you even brought the book up in the discussion it is so laughable. The whole thing seems to parallel the global warming / climate change debate. You can always dig up someone to present an opposing view on any subject you care to mention. And sometimes you can find people who have views that are completely opposite of what would be normal or reasonable. For instance, there are anti-semitic Jews. And there were even Jewish Nazis. So I find it easy to dismiss your use of this Hundred Authors book to support your anti-Einstein bias.

Your shouting, screaming, trolling and spitting the dummy, is really not convincing anyone of anything.
Fact: Your nonsense only is viewed on a narrow band of cyber space by an even narrower number of posters.
Fact: Your fanciful anti Einstein/GR rants are in effect pure fairy tales.
Fact: Mainstream science and academia proceed as per normal, entirely ignorant of your total nonsensical rants.
Fact: And which in effect will eventually be lost forever in cyber space.

Which then in reality leaves you as a nobody, pissing into the wind and only fooling yourself and a couple of other like minded cranks.

As per most anti Einstein propaganda, they are either driven by religious agendas, or simply a fanatical anti science bias due to delusions of grandeur.
If either party/s had anything of a concrete nature to discredit/invalidate either SR/GR or Einstein, they would not be sprouting their nonsensical claims on the only outlet these people have.
Of course they would be making a name for themselves using the scientific methodology and proper peer review and being in line for the next Nobel for physics.
This is the argument I often use as it is totally relevant and true.
Forums such as this are bombarded with these religious fanatics and cranks, simply to foster a warm inner glow within themselves, and also for the illusion of some sort credibility, whatever that may be.
