And does it make my food saltier?

    No.

    Do I care?

    No.

But what does it give you, you the little guy sitting at home right now reading this with your mouth open?

You're an integer, a notch scratched out on a ledger, that pink blob of mass politicians talk over.

The only thing it will give is you the chance to keep running your mouth as though your little opinions on the world actually matter and me the chance to beat you all to it first, so, allow me, ahem: THE NORTH KOREAN DICTATOR, KIM JONG IL, HAS DIED TODAY AT 69.

Slam. Gendanken has called it for a first on Sciforums.

Now discuss. But always remember to vouchsafe a little gratitude
for all the savages willing to run a society for you. Because what is "democracy" but a moral vocabulary consumers are taught in their infancy?

Shouldn't they be calling him Kim-Jong-Dead now?
He's not just Il any more.

Damn, I only caught a few of her remarks before deletion. Only the spoon knows what is stirring in the pot, but I believe that she had our “esteemed” AlexG in her cauldron.

What’s that ole saying… never cut with a knife what you can cut, or stir with a spoon?

Getting back on topic. North Koreans weeping hysterically over the death of Kim Jong-il

And I, the little person at home is left wondering...

Look at the new boss, same as the old boss. Nothing has really changed because his son will follow in his fathers footsteps and cause many headaches to many people.

I wonder who will inherit those big 'ol Elton John glasses he always wore?...

What a fashion plate he was...

The son has many health issues, and is untrained to stop the military heads from ousting him from life prematurely. If his father-god is proven mortal, then it is difficult for the offspring to keep the myth polished in the eyes of the masses.
Why two weeks for the news of the fathers death to reach the west? Answer: Stalling preparations for overturn of government. The Arab spring has reached Korea. Both Koreas.

Only a man with a heart of stone would not laugh at the death of Little Il.

Hey, at least you found a way to feel superior about it, that's the important thing.

See what people don't get about this guy is that he doesn't/didn't age like mortal humans. Just like we have dog years to account for the speed at which dogs mature and their relatively short lifespans, there are god years to be accounted for too. In those terms, Kim Jong Il was almost 57000 god-years old, and all the medicare in Scandinavia could never come close to achieving such longevity.

See how they weep... Tragic, I give most of them 8/10 for grief points, some of them deserve a 9.5. Almost as bad as my hometown looked a few years ago when their hockey team lost the final championship match of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Thankfully the Dear Leader made sure the people would always have a remedy at hand for dark times.

I don't usually laugh at grief.
I would have said never before today.
But the weeping and wailing was so over the top I couldn't help laughing at it.

This was the man that starved hundreds of thousands of them to death, while he spent their money on arms.

Not weeping would have resulted in a disappearance in the middle of the night. The leadership would not look too kindly if the newsreader showed little to no emotion when announcing his death. They would really have looked unkindly if the newsreaders grinned like lunatics while they announced it. So weep they must.

The public also throw their bodies down and weep madly in public. Keeping up appearances ensures self preservation and will not draw unwanted attention.
