Nikelodeon's contributions - what are they?

My question is: who IS nick? A man? A female? How old is he/she? What does he/she do for a living?
 
Nick has greatly contributed to the Sci-forums encyclopedia. Ever read about [ENC]East Korea[/ENC]?

Spammed with spurious monkey all over it. I get the impression that Nik's current motivation is to do anything so long as it's not an actual contribution.

Well. That's not really what happened. The thing is that Spurious, Nick, Redarmy and a few others contributed greatly to the wiki. Since the wiki doesn't host pictures, Spurious hosted many of the pictures on his site. After he was banned, he changed the pictures to pics that point to his forum. It's actually standard treatment for hotlinkers. The difference is that he originally allowed these pictures to be hosted on his site for the specific purpose of hotlinking to sci. So, it's a bit childish, but his prerogative. I missed the East Korea page when I first found out he did this a while back. Probably missed others too. The thing is that a LOT of the wiki was created by Nick and crew. Thus, there are likely a lot of these pictures embedded in there.

It's a shame that Spurious did this, really. The entries were really imaginative and funny and changing the pictures just ruins them.

Nik's ok.
He's not much on debate or scientific/philosophical discussion, but he is witty and that has a place here.
The animosity that he and others have developed recently is unfortunate, but in many ways understandable. I hope that he'll get it out of his system at some point. But, he does have some legitimate reasons for feeling as he does.

Basically, what he's doing now, or so it seems, is digging up hypocrisy or whatever. He resurrects a thread from years ago with buffys boob avatar to stir up the pot. Even got a newb to report it. Many of his other resurrections are of a similar nature.

He's trying to point out that the rules here aren't followed strictly and that this implies corruption (I guess). He's trying to show that some people get away with things that other people don't get away with.
He ignores context, of course.

I'm unsure if he actually wants the rules followed strictly and mechanically or if he's advocating loosening up of the rules.
The former is disgusting to even think about it.
And the latter would be difficult as we're pretty damned loose around here already despite the occasional flareups.

Anyway.
He's better than many around here these days.

I didn't know that. It sounds like plazma might want to consider some web space for wiki images. I really hate to ask it, but what specifically did Nik contribute to the wiki?

I agree, I remember some interesting content that spurious would post. I guess he just felt too hurt and needed revenge to cope.

I didn't realize that Nik was hurt. If part of his posting is an expression of resentment and there is no real contribution from the past (pending the wiki answer of course) then to me and others (as you have seen) he is only adding spam.

I don't know. I can't see his posts being much different than 3rd parties whom advertise cell phones and viagra on this site.

Nik's posts are genreally very humourus and witty and i think people like him shoudl be encouraged as they take a light hearted approach which is great in light of some heated exchanges.

Most of his posts here bring a smile to my face and he just is a great guy...

Also he does post seriously, i have read many posts on US foreign policy etc,,,, where he has had intelectual and sometimes heated discussions with the likes of the Buffalo, (who for other reasons is a great guy)

So i will not have you talking shit about him

As you can see most people appreciate his efforts on this forum, like Oreleander for example who obviously shares my appreciation for his quick and sharp wit

Here is what I have seen. Several members taking neutral positions, two members agreeing with me, and several members appreciating Nick's wit. Show me his heated intellectual discussions on US foreign policy.

Nickolodeon is a great poster and capable of sustained original humour. Humour is one of mankinds greatest gifts and a hugely underrated science.
