in these kinds of threads it's very welcome from people to name particular songs, even if it makes you to choose among the best of the best.
you can just as me list others below

lokee
09-08-02, 10:55 AM
Sorry about that...i was gonna just list all of them, but i guess i can narrow it down to a favorite :D my i guess "Aenema"....oh forgot about "spiders" by system of a down too...

Congrats

Bjork makes videos which are pure art, definately.

I'd say- Joga
Cocoon, and Hidden Place are all like this.

Also! The Coldplay video 'Trouble' was really astonishing. I'm surprised it didn't get more attention.

I agree, but have you seen the one by Enigma?

I personally like All is full of Love by Bjork most, but they are all true art

Congrats
09-08-02, 03:29 PM
No, I have not seen or heard anything by Enigma. But back to Bjork!

I actually have never seen the AIFOL video. I have had any oppurtunities to buy it on DVD, but I just haven't.

There is only one Bjork video I find uninspired, which is 'Play Dead'. It was feaued on a soundtrack for some plastic-laden Holywood action flick, and the video just interlaces shots of Bjork singing and rubbing her hands in a big room with this stupid shoot 'em up footage.

If you have ever seen Cocoon, you' understand why it was so good. I don't think I could imagine a better concept than Bjork playing with red tendrils coming out from her breasts.

"spiders" by system of a down...
Darn, I missed one? :o :D

Faithless by Injected. Fave colour of blue.

Californication by the RHCPs, video game! :D

Superman's Dead by Our Lady Peace. Tragic.

Jeremy by ____. The shirtless boy who committed suicide, and splattered the blood on all his classmates...ahh..perfect for the song. :) Too bad I can't remember the artist ATM....

And absolutely any video by Tool. Definitely. Gotta love the twisted Claymation. :D

Radiohead: Pyramid Song
Radiohead/UNKLE: Rabbit in Your Headlights
Soundgarden: Jesus Christ Pose
Pearl Jam: Jeremy
Gorillaz: Rock da House
Deep Forest: Sweet Lullaby

Those are the first to mind. One of the Radioheads is probably my favorite.

thanx,

Blur - "Coffee and TV"

A milk carton roaming the streets to find a family's missing child. An awesome blend of animation and live action.

Peace.

Yeah! That's right, it was Pearl Jam. Thanks Lokee :)

Let's see...I liked Schism by Tool...the one where the little Claymation dude was looking for something? I especially liked the part where the guy ripped off a part of the pipe, and you can see there's an intestine type thing moving past. They're good at making things creepy. :)

Tool's newest video, "parabola" is a work of art too...system of a down's video, "Chop Suey" is pretty damn cool too.

%BlueSoulRobot%
09-10-02, 05:10 PM
Dam, haven't seen Parabola, on account of not having the Alternative channel. *grumble*

Yes! System Of A Down rocks! :D I have yet to see Aerials as a video, but I've seen Chop Suey, and it's cool. The in-and-out reappearances are groovy. The drummer is so normal, it's funny. :D And Shavo Odadjian (bassist) rocks.

The ariels video is good...very strange. I don't think that there is a video for dead cell...but i did see the very end of prayer, just the part where it says the song and artist, so there is one for that song. Another video i forgot to mention is "Sugar" by System of a Down. it's great, humorus in its own twisted way.

%BlueSoulRobot%
09-13-02, 07:18 PM
S'aight, thanks loki :)

System vids are always twisted in some way, except for maybe Chop Suey. It was kind of funny when all the kids where eating chinese food. :D Hmmm...I haven't even heard of Sugar by Soad yet...it's not on Toxicity. :( I really want to see the Prayer vid, though. That song's the bomb! :D

Nebula
09-18-02, 02:06 PM
since everyone is talking about SOAD, I'd like to clarify my stance on them:

They are one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. Their first CD was UNBELIEVABLE, when I got it that's all I listened too...then toxicity came out, and it blew me away, I learned they aren't a dry well. So much creativity it makes me jealous.

%BlueSoulRobot%
09-18-02, 05:15 PM
Yeah System! :D I liked "Science", "Deer Dance", "ATWA" and "Shimmy". Oh! And of course, Aerials, since it's on the radio and everything. I need to get their first album....

Nebula
09-19-02, 02:42 PM
Yes you do. Science is an UNBELIEVABLY good song....I can't believe it, it's so darned unbelievable.

Has anyone heard their "Legend of Zelda?"

Legend of Zelda...not yet. ;)

09-23-02, 08:50 PM
I have to agree with Tiassa..

Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song' and 'Street Spirit' etc are definitely moving.
Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" is up there too.

Plus the visuals at a Godspeed You Black Emperor! gig.. visuals accompanying music constituting a "music video" i suppose (seeing that they dont release commercial music videos, or singles for that matter - good for them).

Atmosphere by Joy Division.

Really, most Bjork videos fall into this category. They also happen to be pretty neat.

It's not art, but have you ever seen the video for The Lovecats by the Cure? Best video ever. I also really like that one by the White Stripes with Legos.

Do The Evolution is good too (pearl jam). Only because its Mcfarlane though.

Tool's videos are always among the best.
I submit "Road to Nowhere" by the Talking Heads and the Tony Bennett video with Barbra Streisand being eaten alive by a manic parakeet (I forget the title.)

i watch music channels very seldom.. so i really dont have one to add here... but i do have a qestion for those of you experts on the subject....

a long itme ago..... probably... 5 years we'll guess. i head a song.. and i wanted to write the name of it down, but i was sick, and was too fevered to get up to get a peice of paper.. but it was the greatest song.. or so i remember.. i dont remember ANY of the words or sounds or anything.. but i do know the video...

there was a girl (female singer) looked american, but not highly famous, (obviously could've been british, austrailian, swedish.. ETC) she was in an old empty house... i think furnature in the house moved on its own.. she was laying upside-down hanging off the couch, and oh.. i think she had strawberry blond-ish hair... but thats not a for sure. it was autumn outside.. it was like she was in an empt grey-ish cabin in the woods, and there were falling leaves everywhere. some spots, were the oldstyle slow motion type shots of her walking into the house and such... and it was a more vocal song.

if this strikes the littlest memory in any of you, please let me know so i can try to find it.
thanks.

"when worlds collide" by powerman5000. maybe not the best song ever, but i thought the video was rad. "fell in love with a girl" by the white stripes too.

Weezer - Buddy Holly video by Spike Jonze. For anybody that is not sure if they have seen it before, its on the Happy Days set.
I dont know about it being art, but it is a damned good video.
Rage Against The Machine - Renegades of Funk and Sleep now in the fire are very good politically messaged music videos, in that way; they are art.

%BlueSoulRobot%

(Great title, Capt. Crunch.) :p :D

Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground - The White Stripes!

Hate the song, love the video! I like the whole "ghost/3D shadow" theme. Very creepy, but it's worth a look.

Pts. Of. Athrty. - Linkin Park (or however the heck you spell it.)

It's almost a miniature movie! Chock-full of zoids, awesome animation (especially of the decapitated heads), and kick ass fighting action. :)

Immortal - Adema

I just like the Mortal Kombat shots. :D

The Tea Party has some really groovy videos too. Temptation and sister awake are some good ones.

Every Samshing pumpkins Video is really awesome. Those guys seriously make some awesome inspring videos.
