Congratulations.

Whether you accept the job or not, I hope whatever you decide to do makes you happy.

Try to hold that excitement until you actually get the job. Many times they don't always come through. I do though hope that you do get it if it is what you want to do.

This is an interesting thread.. First; congratulations on the job offer, that's cool.

I started to think about "job offers" in general and I realized that I have only been offered jobs that I pursued. What I mean is; a job offer has never come out of the blue for me, I have only been offered jobs I inquired about. Does this make any sense to anyone or am I just talking out of my ass here?

Sometimes someone you know may suggest your name where they are working at to help you get an opportunity to get a job there. Other times friends of yours may tell someone that's looking for someone to hire about you. There are other things that could prompt someone calling you "out of the blue" that's only a couple. Perhaps you put your name in at a compoany before and a few years pass then they go through their records and see that you are the one they want as another example.

so you're going to brave the americans, eh? good luck. really dude, good luck.

i think it's ok to be excited. i'm mostly excited because it's a fulltime salary which i've never had. stipends- had, wages- had, salary/benefits- never had.

someone at the university i've been working at just up and offered it to me on my way out. and i thought i'd be leaving there. anyway, it's been put on hold for me, although someone else told me they have to advertise and accept resumes for affirmative action purposes.

the gig? well.....it's something i'm qualified for but not overqualified like all the jobs i've had thusfar. i'll just say it's times like these i'm glad i'm good at chemistry too.

of course i'll spot you one!
