YAY!! Summer in Britain! Only 200mm of rain every minute!!

Logically Unsound
07-02-04, 10:40 AM
thats somewhat excessive isnt it?

Yep, the great british summertime is here. Excellent thunder storm at 4:50am this morning. Very loud indeed. And it's been raining for the best part of the day. Summer hot, blah!

I think I'd find it a little bit of a culture shock to have winter in July

Well if you live in the southern hemisphere ... that's what people are experiencing. Then again, it would be hard for them to imagine winter in December.

I would like to have some of those thunderstorms, though. Heck, just send all the storms here ... i will be more than happy taking them off your hands :) ... though I can't say everyone else in the neighbourhood would want that. No one here appreciates the beauty of a summertime thunderstorm. :(

Neither do I especially if it's at 5 in the morning...and I had only just gone ot bed an hour before and had to be up at 7. Take them. Take them all!

I love when it is -25 C. (-30 C is a little cold even for me :D )

I just love snow storms :D

The Singularity
07-02-04, 11:19 AM
When the temp gets that low ... I find little difference between -25C and -30C. It's not that bad either way but when the wind starts blowing and the temp drops to -40C, then winter becomes unbearable (stupid windchill factor)

Though the best part about winter is the snow ... lots and lots of snow.

i prefer the winter.

Would you rather be cooked to death or be frozen till you die?
And don't say Frozen, cause then in the future they might de-frost me and make me immortal ! ! !

it depends on wind over here, becuase of wether patterns we sometimes get warm air from australia and sometimes cold air from antarctica

it is generally colder in june-july but other than that it doesnt really change

Baal Zebul

Last time I looked, summer ends sometime in September. And normally it starts in June, but this year...

Thor
07-04-04, 08:16 AM
Ah the great British Summertime is upon us. It's been raining nearly non-stop for 4 days. Amazing.

Actually, this is the first time I've seen rain in July for years. Seen snow in July, but never rain. Looks like this Heatwave will be with us for Xmas. Yay

Bet it's GWB's tactical nukes that's sent us off course.

What is that medal for??!!! . . . And why is everyone talking about weather? Is it the in-thing in SciForums now? Did I miss that much?

Well, in any case, I'll share my weather. It's been getting up to about 90F here. Yesterday was humid. THAT'S THE WORST!!!!! And the last few days, there were thunderclouds coming from the south, but they make no rumbly-rumbly and bypass Klamath Falls entirely, going off to the west. It made a great, GREAT orange sunset yesterday, though. Right now, I see dark clouds in the south, and the wind has been blowing through the window by the computer. It's a decent there's-a-storm-coming wind.

Anyway, that's the weather report for KF! :D

Athelwulf
07-25-04, 07:53 PM
And what's this of the hacking of the penises? I wonder who in the world would ever be crazy enough to do that! . . . At least their own. In any case, that's a new kind of hurt right there!

. . . For some reason, "penises" doesn't look like the plural for "penis". Them dumb Romans! This may sound weird, but I'm now curious of whether that's the proper plural. Be right back.

Athelwulf
07-25-04, 08:04 PM
According to yourdictionary.com, either "penises" or the original Latin plural "penes" (pronounced PEE-neez) is acceptable.

Also according to them, "pencil", "penicillum", and "penis" come from that same Latin word, which also meant "tail".

As you can probably tell, I either have no life, or too much time on my hands, or a cynnical mind! :D
