why do poeple say you cant die in your dreams?

I dont know if anyone else here has heard this being said but, it is said that, you cannot die in your dreams, but i do all the time, especially recently, why is that?

What is suppose to happen if you die in your dreams anyway?

You can't, not the person you 'play' anyway.
When you die in a dream you wake up because your mind can't comprehend how to move on after death.

So how long after you died did you wake up ? I'm betting immediately.

 

mine does because after i die i come back has a ghost. and yes its scarry.

i dont wake up till morning.

 

Then you are not dead in your dream, you live on as a ghost. You can't dream a dream without being at least a spectator.

 

That's bullshit. I've died before in a dream. It mustve been very vidid being that I remember it since thats uncommon for me. My body was getting operated on by other life.

 

So while you were dead, who were you in the dream ?

 

I'm not really a lucid dreamer or an active dreamer for that matter. Theres times where I'm the character of a dream and theres instances where it seems as if I'm overlooking something that is going on. I used to have dreams of my grandmother passing by means of murder and I dont remember being in it.

Those are first person dreams.

To know you are dead in your dream you have to be at least a spectator (first person), and then you aren't dead. See ?
'You' cannot die in your dream. Only the character you are 'playing' can die. And is then immediate replaced by another or you go back to spectator.

The spectator cannot die, this is you. Any other character is merely representing you.

 

well, that's what death is. you become a ghost (or another body). of course you can't "die" in a dream, because you can't die in life either! only the character you're "playing" can die, not the spectator/consciousness.

 

And if that character you play in your dream dies you shift to another character. The true 'dream-you' cannot die in a dream.
In fact, you must always be a spectator as well.. so..

 

If someone real kills you when your dreaming that would do it.

 

But then you wont get killed in your dream, you'll just be killed while you dream

Isn't that still "in your dream" when you realize that your dreaming and then you really are dead.

 

No, I doubt you will continue dreaming when you are mortally wounded.. :shrug:

Death in a dream is waking up in reality

the same can be applied with reality...death in reality is waking up in after into truth beyond which is yet another truth

Yes but when you die in a dream you are still asleep, so the dream cant just end there.

 

I've never died in any of my dreams. I've been shot in the back of the head at pointblank range and kept on fighting, lol.
