Now it is dead. Aborted_Fetus 08-08-04, 08:04 PM i hate anything under 1280x1024....well, i can use 1024x768, but not for a long period of time... sargentlard 08-08-04, 09:21 PM Posters are really running out of ideas for new threads aren't they. Preacher_X 08-09-04, 10:10 AM lol, sargent lard, your right i know but im making a site so i need the info. and good, most people aren't using 800 by 600 as i previously thought. and thanks for the replies guys mickeyboy 08-10-04, 10:55 AM Preacher, as someone with a BSc in multimedia (he boasts quite smugly) i would advise you to make your site for 1024x768 not the (pish) 800x600. 800x600 used to be the industry standard when pc's were very expensive, the average joe could not afford a fancy machine so went for something with a 15 inch monitor running windows 95. That is not a problem anymore everyone can afford a good quality pc, and with microsoft stopping support for windows ME never mind 98 and 95, the people who will not be able to view your site because of screen restrictions is minimal. And anyway those still running win 95 are probably not the type you want to view your site anyway :D spuriousmonkey 08-10-04, 12:51 PM A large part of the people visiting my site still use 800x600. I still see regulalry 640x480.l certified psycho 08-10-04, 03:45 PM I use 1024x768. I could go bigger but it hurts my girlfriends eyes. sargentlard 08-10-04, 03:48 PM 800x600 used to be the industry standard when pc's were very expensive, the average joe could not afford a fancy machine so went for something with a 15 inch monitor running windows 95.D Yeah...a lot of sites are still in 800X600 though. 800X600 is so primitive now. I Guess the site could be designed in different resolutions too. Currently Usual Specs is 1024x768, there are a few occurances of higher, however they aren't that high currently. Well, I wouldn't be suprised if they are accurate, because 640x480 are always in conjunction with win95 or 98. There are still people with old machines out there somewhere. Rick 08-12-04, 05:15 AM I use 1024 or 1280 interchangeably... bye! dmcm01 08-13-04, 03:39 PM i find having a resolution above 1024x768 makes the text too small so you have to increase it along with the icon size wich puts you back where you started just with more eye pain..... Blindman 08-13-04, 09:26 PM 3200by1200 over dual screen. You can never have enough desk space.. GuessWho 08-13-04, 10:35 PM I have 1280x800 widescreen on my laptop but no option for me to vote. :( Aborted_Fetus 08-22-04, 01:27 PM 1600x1200 on my 19"....i would go more if my monitor supported it... blobrana 08-22-04, 04:13 PM hum, 800x600 on my 17" monitor, usually. Though, i have used a 6 foot x 6 foot scrollable screen on my Amiga, for a weird problem solving program. Apeitheo 08-22-04, 08:24 PM 1280x1024 thanks to my 17" CRT Monitor... Although I would like to get triple flat-panel 17-19" LCD monitors... |
