Science is mostly quite boring, but sometimes science is quite sexy and exhilarating... today we had a seminar. It was quite small, but some of the smarter people on the topic of evolution were attending. The topic was interesting, but you could see the 'lesser' PhD students lose it completely (because they forgot to look at the big picture and just saw incomprehensible data). They forgot to think. I managed to fire of the first question after the talk (I had to be quick) and it was quite an interesting one. The 'brains' showed some typical responses of approval (such as a quiet laugh and looking back at who commented: it is difficult to explain, you need some experience with it). I got an interesting reply and the 'brains' took it further. The lesser PhD student just sat there. science can give a tremendous kick anyone else have a story?
Yes- I remember reading Sagan and going to bed dreaming of middle aged men making love to my brain. That was waaaaaaaaaay back in the day when his books actually appealed to me but anyway...... This also brings to mind those community college days when I'd go home feeling a goddess because all the tards in my astronomy class were amazed I knew all my planets. That's all I had to do to impress them......name planets. So maybe the appeal of science lies in mistifying every miserable worm in your public that you know does not read.
Trust me, I study it all day and night, it never excites me, my its those professor types that turn you on. Oh, wait I am not supposed to be talking to you.
Not talking to me? Why? Can't you see I'm a miserable worm without you? Kidding. Don't take it personal freddie, I'm in a mood today. There's a fat chick smacking gum sitting next to me and a small nosy child staring at me I'd like to see boiled.
Now why the hell are they closing my threads??? I smell conspiracy. Someone here seriously does not like me. W-H-Y?
We had some of our basic undergrad classes taught by female grad students. I think we had record attendance. I pesoanlly wanted more 'class participation'.
Science can be great. Its the making connections and joiing the dots and doing stuff that no one else can do that a lot of people like. Me, I just like knowing things, thus im not doing a Phd.
And I'd just remembered my astronomy teacher, Mak. He was tall, pudgy, bald and had these piercing blue eyes saddled with bags. Not my type by a long shot. But for some spaced out reason only the gods know, I found him incredibly attractive. He was looking at a Hubble shot of the galaxies and remarked on how he couldn't get over how fascinating it was and it was like bricks fell and he slammed headfirst on my g-spot. INCREDIBLY sexy.
science itself is just so exciting. the unknown is thrilling and the known is fascinating. (i was about to reveal a strange fact about me but i decided it was wiser not to. it involves textbooks and an ex.) moving right along..... i'm not sure why it is so sexy but i want to get in all the bio forum guys' pants and i've never met them nor ever will. science people are sexy simply because they're smart. there's something about those neurons firing lightening fast and those deep eyes (read: not vacant or glazed over). the more wrinkled the brain the better.
Ahh, eyes are very important, they truly are the mirror of the soul. You can see in peopels eyes roughly what they are thinking, and moreover whether they are vacant or not, or how much they are sparkling. All of which is good information as to how the person is doing and thinking.
