There's something on my computer that keeps trying to connect to viewpoint .com. It says INS instead of WWW, google gives me http://www.viewpoint.com/pub/index.html for it. What the heck is this, exactly, what put it on my computer, and what do I do with it?

Well according to the site it seems that Viewpoint is a media player and "Plug-in".
I'm guessing that either a plugin has been downloaded at some point or something that is prompting you to install the plugin.

What you could attempt to do is either find a "Firewall" or network monitor that watches to see which process is attempting to connection to that URL.
Or failing that just look through your Process/task list to see what programs are running. It's likely that if its a legitimate install that you'll be able to use ADD/REMOVE programs to remove it.

Other than that you would need to more investigation on your system to find the problem since the site has no information on "Removing" anything.
