Is there are reason why there are no moderators for some forums? Is it just because no one wants the job? Are the positions open?

Thor 11-12-02, 03:15 PM Maybe there hasn't been a need to mod them Maybe Porfiry is the moderator for them Maybe I should shut the hell up now All these queries will be answered....soon ... wet1 11-12-02, 03:34 PM Forum moderators come from the members of sciforums who care enough to volunteer for a particular forum that they are interested in. Appointment of moderators, qualifications, and suitability are Porfiry's domain. In a lot of the forums, no one to my knowledge has stepped forward to say. " I would like to be responcible" and fit the required criteria. grazzhoppa 11-12-02, 03:50 PM ok, thanks...I just was curious to why. Interesting that no one has taken the responsibility yet. goofyfish 11-12-02, 03:54 PM Usually because of what we have to put up with. ;) Thor 11-12-02, 04:03 PM Erm....what happened to Clar, the moderator of Nerd Culture He seems to have disappear!!! Porfiry 11-12-02, 07:02 PM Clarentavious was demoted. Phrenetic 11-12-02, 11:38 PM AWESOME dude that guy isn't very nice =-] Bachus 11-13-02, 12:14 PM Well if you need/want moderators on specific forums i guessed you would have asked. Maybe you should post the stuff you get yourself into when you want to become a mod. Though most fora's (spelling) don't require that much work (from what i see). wet1 11-13-02, 10:44 PM Asking for members to take the position of mods isn't how it is done. As was said before it is a volunteer type thing. Those interested must apply for the position, not the other way around. fast-eddie 11-14-02, 02:53 AM Originally posted by goofyfish Usually because of what we have to put up with. ;) last time I heard, GF, had to answer a war crimes court of inquiry about his dubious actions. after a nasty spanking in the court of public opinion, GF was told: "I'll let you off easy with a spanking this time...young man...but in future respect your elders.":p Bachus 11-14-02, 08:07 AM Originally posted by wet1 Asking for members to take the position of mods isn't how it is done. Oh we did/do it that way. :) Prolly easier for us though since all mods/admin have met irl in the past. fox2wolf 11-14-02, 09:16 AM How does one go from junior member to member to senior member as far as classification? Just wondering. Bachus 11-14-02, 09:35 AM Certain number of posts :) (i think 50) wet1 11-14-02, 12:44 PM fox2wolf, Junior to senior status is post count driven and occurs at 100 posts. wet1 11-14-02, 01:51 PM Bachus, Prehaps I was not plain. Appointment of moderators, qualifications, and suitability are Porfiry's domain. This means that Porfiry has sole control upon this, as it should be. He owns the site, he should and does have control upon his creation. |
