i found out just now i'll be employed in the not too distant future. it doesn't sounds as exciting that way but even though the job is mine there is still paperwork and bureaucracy slowing it down and it's such a buzzkill. why do universities have so much friggin bureaucracy?
finally, seemingly useless talents like eyeballing a perfect meniscus come in handy :D

beaurocracy? you mean bureaucracy?
beau-ro-cracy - an administration run by boyfriends who live along South American rivers
It's the commute that makes it a hassle.

I know what you mean, I used to have to commute 3 miles over a mountain to get to work, it was that or take the perilous clifftop way, it was such thirsty work that I used to get there half pissed sometimes!!
Then at journeys near end I had to either cross over this bridge or walk another mile, thing was this bridge hadn't been repaired since antiquity and was just a simple Roman arch with only two stones remaining at its apex!
I always choose the bridge when I had the Dutch courage, sober was the long way round, I shouldn't be alive right now by all accounts.

I'm glad to be retired , no more of these types of mind games. :)
