isn't it about time we rid ourselves of this troll,
a troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, absurd, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others.
recognise anyone, this person never answer a question and just posts one line statement. which are all of the above, and I for one am just plain sick of it, so I think it's time he left.
and if you dont know, who I mean hes called IAC/IceAgeCivilizations.
so please vote above.

With all due respect IAC but you do bring threads like this upon yourself. Even though I have tried to encourage you to type more than a sentence you never do, and those few words that you do type are generally of no value to the actual discussion. To some people you are the face of christianity and it currently looks ugly. You're asked a simple question and you fail to answer, someone tries to engage in discussion or debate issues and you give them a pointless 2 word response.

Clearly you have no interest in actually discussing issues so can I ask why you're even here?

I respond to legitimate questions, I've answered most of nds1's questions several times, as have others, so that's the way it is. Do you have any legitimate questions Snake?

I voted not to ban him. He'll leave of his own accord, like duendy. We didn't ban her.

We should be tolerant of those who aren't deliberately trolling. IAC is just misguided and unscientific, like duendy. He's not trolling for a reaction, he's repeatedly putting forward a stupid hypothesis.

A real troll is the member known as Singularity/anomalous/wounded iraqi muslim. He has lost 2 out of 3 sockpuppets, and it's high time the last one was banned.

Ban threads was at one point a banning offence in itself, since it can be perceived as a personal attack.

As for Banning IAC?
Well he gives flak because he's use to people giving him flak because of his theories being weak (weak as in lacking evidence). If you base it on him being "inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, absurd, or off-topic" then you'd probably find that a few other members who have interacted with him would also be seen to do that to.

Quite frankly there are a lot of juvenile haters just out to wind people up, for what purpose? There can be a long list from an unhappy childhood, being an anarchist right through to them being upset that their personal blog or forum doesn't get as much attention as sciforums.

Like Nickelodeon mentions, use the Ignore function. Should a person be a troll, the won't have so much fun if people aren't listening/responding to their posts.

IceAgeCivilizations

He doesn't need to be banned. That doesn't mean he is off my troll list though.

Of course once he starts some serious offerences (again) he might need to receive some kind of disciplinary action.

I have spoken like a true nazi moderator.

"Juvenile hater?" Please elaborate Stryder.

Young people that just want to vent their aggression out on forums, There was a group at one point that actually attempted to undermine forums by bolstering user numbers and coordinating trolling attacks, They are kind of the equivalent of Script Kiddies to Hackers.

Sometimes such groups even attempted creating wars between forums, just so they can watch what chaos they cause from a distance.

I know it sounds stereotyping that it's usually "Young people" however the more mature forums users don't usually do such things unless they have a medical reason.

Certainly, there was even one on my post that your quote is a response to. Alas you didn't answer it. Let's try again:

"Clearly you have no interest in actually discussing issues so can I ask why you're even here?"

Let's face facts, if we go back through your posts we'll find pretty much all of them consist of no more than one sentence, (usually of no relevance to actual questions asked/discussions posed). A large portion of the time you simply post two words, (e.g "surely not"). This leads me to the conclusion that you're not the discussion type, you have very little to say on the issues presented on this forum, and you don't really have the time or inclination to provide adequate answers to peoples questions. That is why I am asking you the question I am, that is why I have on several occasions now tried to encourage you to actually leave a post of substance.

So, given the above, why are you on this forum exactly? (there's no right or wrong answer I'm just curious).

If you're curious why it matters that you only ever provide two irrelevant word responses it's generally because:

A) As stated this is a discussion forum

B) Because many others spend a lot of time and effort into their posts. It is simply rude to then give it a "surely not" and expect that to suffice.

Looking forward to your answer.

Don't you think that just a little too much effort and perhaps even too much complexity?

I mean if you are going to go to the point of scripting a browser or other variant to do your dirty work, why not turn that "talent" to something positive, create a program and sell it on the net? If you did that you wouldn't have the time to listen to people bitch and on top of that you get paid for it.
