"The following appeared in a story in today's (8/3) Boston Globe describing president wannabe Bush's campaign appearance at a picnic near Chicago yesterday:

"Then Bush responded to questions about whether he would drop out of the race by holding up a half-eaten ear of corn to the questioners, a gesture he did not explain."

    — This is a new high point in the art of the Bushism. Now he doesn't even
need to use words to say things that nobody can figure out."

    From http://www.bushisms.com/index2.html

A gesture worthy of a master?

Maybe Ive misjudged this man, maybe he is smarter than a root vegetable, maybe he really is running this country.
Maybe I'm stupid but I understand what he meant

Bush is indeed the true master of saying incomprehensible garbage that sometimes seems almost comprehensible. But corn...?

Um, Bush was once a trained fighter pilot. I suspect neither of you can fold more than one kind of paper airplane.

Bush is not a rocket scientist, by any means, but then, are you?

    I didn't think so.

Before you cry and complain of unfair criticism, imagine you have been elected President...

    Mr G

My brother was a pilot, I was navy. I directed pilots, missiles, and more.

Am I a rocket scientist? Well, I some subjects in my degree touch on engineering for space.

Before you get all snooty, perhaps you should imagine that you don't know about other sciforums users.

    So. you're not him.
    Naval Pilot?
    You flew a radio?
The atmosphere actually touches space. It, too, is not a fighter pilot, or a US president.

Bush never logged even a single solo flight hour, and was AWOL for his last 8 months of service.
