When I saw scheherazade's video, it reminded me that all creatures posses consciousness, and some nearer to our own then most people understand. Your first link doesn't seem to work for me. As far as using horses for meat at the table they should be made to follow all the same laws they do for beef. In other words the horse or any animal should have a decent life until it's time. However, to anyone that considers horses as pets, this is going to be a problem even with other people eating them. I've never eaten horse or dog and don't plan on it.
