Of course there is such a thing as too much (think GPS tracking device strapped to your head 24/7). I believe the train the station thing is on the way if its not already there. IDK if the subway thing would fix much. The cites that have subways have large enough crowds that you would get the same effect just blowing your bomb up on the street corner. In other words you would have to secure every sidewalk as well which is impossible.

Yeah. It is war. We used to collect scrap metal or materials and not use silk because it was needed in the war effort. Now we cannot be bothered to even take off our shoes.

There is your line, RFID chip ? Why, if it would secure your safety wouldnt that be a good thing ? If you are not a terrorist why that should bother you ? I see lot of people taking it already, maybe they are ahead of the times.
No subways, damn, then its all somewhat futile efforts ! They will strike to the weak points I´m afraid.
Maybe we need more police in the streets with better equipment, or should we go to marshall law altogether, after all its a war !

Yeah, we had come to such a pussies, no real effort to win the war.

    Because of the REASONABLE clause.

    You keep forgetting that.

And while you say that we need security you won't say what it should be like.

In fact it's obvious that you've run out of answers and are just TROLLING.

Not RFID, think real time tracking of everyone in America. Also, I don't think we need more police, we just need to start keeping the smart ones:

A better question for the trolls may be, "Why do you think the current level of security present in United States is unreasonable?"

Keep repeating that magic word and it will keep the TSA in check I´m sure.

I´m for a full scale police state now, cant you see that ? You are too when its in place I´m pretty sure. Why I´m sure, well, its done step by step, and you will defend it in every step, first the patriot act, wiretapping, Guantanamo, then TSA in airports, NDAA, TSA in bus stations, train stations and so on...

Me trolling, really ? Or did I just get a wake up call and joined your ranks ? Its easier (and safer !) live that way than lets say in Spain where
after the Madrid bombings they live in constant fear, those fools !

Naked Man Protests TSA at Portland Airport

"Port of Portland police say a traveler at PDX took off far more than his shoes and belt while going through airport security.

John Brennan, 50, was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after TSA agents say he took off all his clothes and refused to put them back on while passing through the ABC checkpoint.

Police say Brennan was scheduled to fly to San Jose, CA, on Alaska Airlines. Instead, he was taken to jail on charges of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.

Investigators say neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the incident. Instead, Brennan told officers he got naked to protest TSA screeners, who he felt had been harassing him."

How is this anything but sensationalism? It is neither for nor against your postion and that person no doubt held up other passengers and prevented them from getting through security. YEAH FUNNY GUY GETS NAKED is what they print but they don't tell you that they guy behind him missed his first child being born due this persons BS (not actually saying this happened but you get my point).

Where have all the liberal, good looking girls of 60`s (the woodstock generation) gone? Must men do all the exciting protest work?

Now I understand better the lament "For the good old days."

A recent recreation of Lady Godiva´s ride.
Going nude for a cause is nothing new, but I doubt we will soon see "John Brennan chocolates" on the market soon.

    Neah!

Over 800 Million people go through airport security every year.

One has to expect that given enough time and that many travellers, eventually someone will do something this stupid.

Like any "sleight-of-hand" event, people sometimes do things to cause distracting moments, where somebody nearby the distraction is slipping past the observers, with the real "contraband carrier subject" getting through undetected. Brennan may have "taken a bullet" for someone else in his party. He eventually reached his destination. I may be giving him more credit for devious intellect than he deserves...

If he was alone, and innocent, then they provoked him into the act, because he was irritated by their initial stereotyping of him--which may in hindsight (pun) seem over-cautious--a characteristic of someone who is "easy to anger and stripping their cloths" could be a hallmark of someone of suspicious character warranting closer inspection.
The moral is don't even "look as to be" a complete ignorant a**hole in public, and the TSA, Secret Service, and other authorities won't be alarmed. This is probably easier said than done

How is that anything but sensationalism ?

This is kinda old news and she didnt go all the way but here is it anyway...

"OKLAHOMA CITY -- The woman who made national headlines for her near-naked protest at the airport in Oklahoma City is back and once again banned from flying.

A YouTube video put Tammy Banovac in the national spotlight. Banovac says she went through security wearing next-to-nothing, to protest new security rules at airports nationwide."

    And one more...

Furrygirl's sexy stripdown protest in Seattle airport mocking TSA security theater (NSFW video)

Keeping your underwear on keeps you out of jail, oh the horror of full nudity !

Ok, when one feels being harassed and feels the need to protest, what is the proper way to do it ? What would you do ?

adoucette should reply but I suspect his POV is that if Big Brother is not violating any law then anything deemed necessary is OK.

Fortunately, Rosa Parks, did not agree, and inconvenienced others (delay of bus) by violation the law. I and many others intentionally caused great economic harm (~$25,000 on a good weather Sunday) to restaurants in Baltimore one summer. This after two prior summers of moral protests, letters to the newspapers, etc. achieved nothing.* Only when protest is disruptive or economical damaging is anything evil or insulting likely to be changed.

We did not technically violate the law, if we peacefully left the restaurant after the trespass law was read to us in the presence of the police officer. It is a long text as intended to stop hunters from crossing fields, etc. and requires the law be posted or read to the violaters. Sometimes an ill educated waitress could not read some of the words, but we had heard it so many times we helped her by saying them. I was never sorry about the economic damage we were causing - that was our objective, but did feel sorry when we embarrassed an ill educated waitress.

We always left as we already had three in jail who did not and the Baltimore AfriAmercan newspaper (and some un named "angles") had told us they could not afford more legal expenses.

    * not quite true: Large department stores had "lunch counters" that operated at small loses to keep hungry customers inside the store. In only a few weeks with only picket lines outside the doors, they closed (to all) these lunch counters. - Not what we had wanted, but that is what they did.

Can the war on terror be won? Will we find the terrorists, or, will we stop the flow of people into terrorism? I believe the second option is more likely, and as soon as the powers that be see that no more people are joining, they will become stressed, and that stress will tear them apart, hopefully. So, why not try to do both, and with that we need to appeal to the people's hearts with dialogue, yes?

If it were that all the clerics were to denounce the bombings, and instead lead people to occupy style marches, the stress of the people will be relieved and then they will not turn to aggression to get this off their chest. Why not rather beat those that side with america? That way they will extort the 'true enemy', and send him packing. Blowing things up is illegal and against the powers of creation.

A man made structure is allowed, look at a mosque. A man made structure like a bank would be there for people to keep their money safe or lend money for a home. God doesn;t have anything against man made structures, but nowhere did god show mohammed how to make bombs or anything like that, but rather to build.

I suggest they try the occupy movement. Then beat these 'traitors' up. Nobody goes to jail, america gets lost, no more death. Wonder what they will think of that?

Actually up that! If the terrorists won't go away, and the war needs to end, then america needs to go home. No general likes to lose men, so, on a broadcast to the american generals, they make a vow to kill many many american soldiers until they are gone. They do just that, generals have a fit, troops retracted above and beyond some sanctimonius pledge to stay till the end and fight for your people. The people dying and being maimed are innocent over there too.

There is no occupy style movement that will end fundamentalist Islam.
