I'm starting my first term at college on Monday. Here are my classes:

Writing Composition I (typical core class)
Elementary Algebra (I really don't like math, but whatev)
College Survival and Success (something they have Freshmen take)
Perspectives of Peace (a special studies "psychology" class that explores the concept of nonviolence)
China: Today and Yesterday (this is a community ed class and has no credit, but it should be interesting)

I'm contemplating dropping the class about China because they have it late-ish at night, and I wouldn't be able to get home unless I had a ride. It's only on Thursdays, but still.

I also had Russian and a beginners' guitar class, both community ed, but they were canceled due to not enough people signing up for them.

    Digital Signal Processing
    Advanced Digital Design
    Digital and Data Communications
    Video Engineering and Digital Media
    Electronic Engineering Project
Social, Legal and Ethical Aspects of Science and Engineering

The last one I hate with a passion. The associated lecturers are arseholes beyond measure.

That's an interesting selection? What's the course title?

    Perhaps he means your degree?

Right now, I'm enrolled for an Associate of General Studies. I don't know what I want to major in yet, but this degree program should be pretty safe until I do know.

How does one get into teaching a college course? I think I have finally limited my "career options" down to either being a mathematics professor or doing operations research.

At my uni, postgrads commonly act as assistants during practicals. I'm guessing the good ones are given more responsibilities. A really good one virtually ran a couple additional courses.

i am taking NCEA lvl3 agriculture through the industry training organisation, im not learning anything new, but it gives me one paid day a week off work in which i can sit around and drink with my mates on the same course. i also get a nice piece of paper at the end of it which im sure will come in handy in a few years with the increasing bureaucracy in the agricultural sector.

Most grad students have to teach a couple of classes---mostly recitations and labs.

Actually it's a huge pain in the ass. I have 40 students that I have to keep track of, and who bug me at times outside my office hours, and who keep me from doing research.

    I have to survive:

    Mathematical Physics
    Quantum Mechanics
    Analytical Mechanics
    Differential and Integral Calculus
Scientific English (where I study, the language of tuition is French)
    Probability (option)

In addition, I have exams in "Macroscopic Physics and Thermodynamics" and "Linear Algebra and Geometry" I will have to retake this summer.
