So, I'm making up my religion, slowly and bit by bit. Which do you believe, of the three options presented?
I voted the third option, just 'cause "there is no creator, deal with it" sounds like the preface to the 69 tenets of Xevology (which change daily).
Given only these three options I have to choose the "might" proposition. A definitive "no" seems overly presumptuous. However, I've yet to see any evidence or argument to support the notion that God does exist and plenty of evidence and argument against the existence of specific definitions of God. ~Raithere
As a non-denominational theist, I believe there must be a creator. Now those of you should not confuse 'creator' with 'God.' These may be two fully different definitions. A God is generally a omnipotent creator, something divine so to speak, as most denominations describe their God(s). A creator may just be something eternal or something that is created from something that created it, etc. A creator does not necessarily need to be omnipotent. Something that is created may be superior to its creator. That is why I believe there must be a creator, while a God who is divine is questionable. We humans reproduce and are mortal. We are not eternal, humans are like news cells that must derive from existing cells, which we are multicellular organisms. Therefore I believe we must be created from something eternal, having no beginning or end. The first one I did not choose because what if the universe was eternal? Therefore a creator could not have made the universe etc.
BUT THERE IS A GOD BECAUSE TRILLIONS BELIEVED AND TESTIFY TO IT. AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS LIE BECAUSE IF GOD DOESN'T EXIST NEITHER DOES KNIG HENRY. There you go. Start believing now, please.
Yo, that really sounds like Muscleman. Are you him? :bugeye: That is almost exactly what he would say.
Surely trillions believe and testify that there isn't a God? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Thor, the fact you haven't met muscleman is, in fact, a reason to believe in God, lol. But in all seriousness, I voted the first. I have no reason to believe in God, and lots of reason to doubt it... But I could be wrong.
I voted for the first option, leaving all doors open. So you are making up a religion? How long have you come so far? Any Bible in the writing?
I've been considering it for a couple of years, but so far I've written nothing down. I hope people buy into it and send me all their money... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
No creator, deal with it. Even if there is some order to the universe, chances are it will be beyond our comprehension and will never be known. I rather like Douglas Adams' take to it all... "There is a theory that states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened." I'm a believer Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's possible that a creator exists, however if he does I don't think he's anything like the religions on Earth say he is. If he exists I don't think he'd concern himself with us, he'd have better things to do. I certainly don't think he is waiting for us up in a perfect heaven.
