    Very interesting CNN article

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/02/04/baby.dna.government/index.html?hpt=C2

Thought I would post here since this topic seems to border on human ethics.

Apparently since the 60’s babies have been genetically tested for an array of issues, which at first glance seems like a good idea. However, the parents of the children have no consent of this testing and in many cases are completely unaware of it. The DNA can be kept from anywhere between 3 month and “Indefinitely”.

The more I thought about the implications of keeping everyone’s DNA on file the more uncomfortable I was with the whole idea, particularly the part where the DNA is given to researchers which some basically alter and patent.

Anyone else have issues with this? If so which parts?
