If you can, get a gun. If this thing hits American soil it's our duty to fight even if we're not officially enlisted.

Check your local laws of course.

It may be too early to worry about this but then with all that government regulation on getting a gun...

Cause you know...that 2nd amendment is so old, it could never be useful now.

i really don't think that buying a gun will help solve anything. (has it ever?) And it's not like soldiers are going to come to our front door or anything like that. They'll probably just fly overhead and drop some bombs. A handgun really wouldn't be of much use then, now would it?

When has a hand gun ever done any good?

The only harm they've done is when parents are too stupid to know how to raise their children to respect them. Or parents are too stupid to know how to properly use them.

    "Not likely"

Of course. This isn't about land so why would the enemy want to take civilian hostages? That never happens in war.

A common battle tactic is to infiltrate civilian areas in order to force the other side to cease fire or risk "collateral damage"

It's a very good bargaining tool. "Politics aren't made on the backs of children."

You are aware that schools in Israel have armed teachers to prevent hostage situations. Oddly it was a successful decision.

    So yeah. Being armed works.
