Seems both the Iraqi and American troops were cooncerned that she did not respond to warning. Also of note the Iraqis were in charge of said patrol and had been for two hours. The US troops were following Iraqi orders. The reason this never made it to the US is that it was a non issue. It barely made mention in the India press, which is much closer geographically.

Also of note The US is not responsible for the majority of the 600,000 plus deaths in Iraq since the invasion. In fact the number of deaths is not much more than similiar periods during the Saddam Hussein regime. Only difference, you were more likely to be killed by carbomb than mustard gas.

Are you kidding? And by the way the name is Hadil Emad. and you can be opposed to war, however to continually lie and distort facts weakens your own position.

First of all, not true, Saddam is guilty of killing millions of Iraqis during his regime. He was only convicted of a small number. Most of the dead Iraqi's during the invasion were killed by insurgent attacks than any other source. Hell, even the Iraqi military got a few hundred thanks to inadequately maintained missiles that crashed in their own cities. And as far as innoccents go, they aren't exactly innoccent when they attack US troops with AKs and RPG's. Finally this war was completely legal, especially considering the treaty Saddam signed. His failure to live up to his end brought this down on his regime.

TWScott: "this war was completely legal, especially considering the treaty Saddam signed."

Surely you're not referring to any UN agreements: Even the sitting Secretary-General declared the war illegal, because the United States ignored and showed contempt for UN procedure, once the Bush Cabinet had decided on their policy of deception and conquest.

In fact, her name has different spellings.

    Check it:

Now, whose country is it? The Iraqis. Whose city did this take place in? The Iraqis. Whose routine was interrupted by bloodthirsty little war piglets? Hadil Imad's.

Not even in the USA do police shoot people for "behaving erratically," whatever that is supposed to mean. Police officers shoot people who pose a direct threat, only. They do not shoot unarmed people who are crossing a bridge. This person was a journalist on her way to work, not an "enemy," and she took this route every single day for several years. She did nothing wrong, yet she was shot twice by foreign invaders who believed they somehow had a right to murder innocent people in HER country. This innocent (and beautiful) woman lives there... and we (and the troops) don't. Yet we entered as foreign invaders and starting murdering people who never once did a single bad thing to hurt us. How would you take to foreign invaders marching down Main Street, USA and shooting dead anybody who happens to walk on the road because they were seen as "erratic?" Surely if it's alright for you to invade other countries, then you should have no objection to anyone else doing that in your town, right?

Let's try to aim for a little consistency here. If we would object to it happening here, then we should object to it happening ANYWHERE. Once I see you taking that stance, then I'll start taking you seriously. As for the death count: the lowest margin of error puts the death toll at 423,000 people. That's nearing half a million people, and since that study is from three years ago, I have absolutely no doubt that we've reached half a million by now. It's probably higher than that, though, considering the highest margin of error is in the 700,000's. We've been fighting this war longer than we fought the Germans and Japanese in World War II. It's not hard to believe any of this at all, when you think about it from that perspective.

One wonders why the American people voted for a dumb-ass like G.W. Bush for two full terms !.
