What if you were the parent of one of these Iraqi kids . How angry would you be at the people who infest the corporate boardrooms of Americas oil corporations who with their minions the American Goverment and Military that instigated this horrific mayhem because of their invasion and imperial conquest of your country ?

I think I would just be indescribably sad and heartbroken. I am fairly certain that I wouldn't think about corporate board rooms. I am also fairly certain that U.S. Oil Corporations wouldn't come to mind. I might be mad at the person who killed my child. I might wonder if the U.S. hadn't invaded if my child would still be alive. But both of those would come later. If my child just died I would be so full of grief I wouldn't be able to think about anything else.

Loosing your child is the same no matter where you live. Please do not use the deaths of children to further any political ideology. Their deaths speak loudly enough.

It doesn't always work that way, the U.S government used the deaths of 11/9/01 to further their political agenda in order to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, Right now, the public and the world are getting used to the violence in Iraq and are caring less and less, their deaths aren't speaking out loud enough.

Yeah, in the whole world. There's death and killing and maiming in almost every corner of the world ...yet it seems that some want to focus on only one spot as if it's something special.

If one cares about the deaths in only one place, then perhaps we should be somewhat concerned about their misguided ideals or that they're not actually concerned about death at all, but only using it for propaganda purposes.

Getting used to death and violence? Yeah, people don't even complain anymore about drug overdoses or criminal murder ...unless it can be used to further their own agenda.

Death of people or groups of people have always been used for propaganda purposes, the sadness of children dying anywhere of anything but natural causes and the fact that we have become numb to it, pretty much shatters any hope i had of mankind becoming more than what it is.

How could you have ever had any real hope for mankind? What evidence did you use to form that hope? I can only see it formed out of ignorance of human actions, both past and present.

Humans are nothing more than another animal on Earth, and animals either fight or die, or run away. I don't see any other options.

Oh I think after 13 years of US sanctions which killed 1.5 million children and an invasion and 4 years of occupation which has killed another 500,000 , I think its fairly obvious to the parents as to who is responsible to their childrens deaths , the US novelty of blaming insurgents is a tad old hat .
The fact that you never mentioned the human catastrophe America has wrought on Iraq speaks volumes .
Precisely , the public are shown images on TV news and they simply go to bed afterwards . Even images of their own soldiers getting fucked up doesnt concern them nor the fact their Goverment lying to them over Iraq motivates them to react , they are SHEEPle .

I refuse to use the deaths of children to further political ideology. How many children will die when we pull out? That country WILL fall apart if we pull out incorrectly, and even if we pull out correctly it may fall apart anyway.

And do not assume you can read from the few words I wrote and judge my perspective on Iraq. That's just an arrogant stance.

If the conservatives were using the deaths of children to stay in Iraq would that be tolerable to you?

There were deaths and violence in Iraq long before the Americans got there. There willl be more after they leave.
One is curious as to why Foley's voice wasn't raised before the Americans arrived - or about any other place on earth suffering a similar fate. His agenda is clear, and it has little to do with children dying. He is as much a propagandist as those he decries.

You'll see quite a few of them here - all espousing some humanist argument, some reason why they hate. The disenfranchised dregs of western society, finally given a voice in a medium over which there is as yet little control. Men crave recognition.

Is that the children dying from starvation due to sanctions that you are talking about? Btw, I am sure there are plenty of violent deaths in the US too, but that does not excuse the 3000 dying in 9/11, or does it?

there are millions of kids dying all over the world, all the time, every day!! Why should anyone single out just one area or region or nation over and above the others?

Ahh, I know ....political agenda! They don't give a fuck about the kids' starving to death, they only care to further their own political agenda, their own political bias and hatred.

Basically, it's "Ahh, fuck the kid's dying in XYZ, let's talk about Iraq so we can get people pissed off at America!"

That's all it is ....no one gives a fuck about the dead or dying kids ....it's all political bullshit.

Sam has a habit of blithely ignoring that which she does not wish to see. Or perhaps, that which she does not understand.

One has nothing to do with the other. How in the name of Allah did you, could you, have made such a connection? ...other than your relentless hatred of the USA clouding any judgements that you make?

Sam is just totally, completely, absolutely blinded by her hatred of the USA and Americans. That hatred clouds everything and anything that she sees or reads or hears.

Why not a little of both?

"Hope" ain't never accomplished anything. Only hard work and dedication will do that. "Hope" is for those who won't do shit about anything ....except sit on their ass and hope for fantasies to come true.
