I note none of the books you have mentioned are by people know for well being objective. I've read both of these and they come off as an anti-intellectual rant IMO.
The validity of posting an amazon link as evidence is highly questionable anyway. For example: The holocaust never happened - look there a book that says it didn't so it must be true: http://www.amazon.com/Hoax-Twentiet...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235950014&sr=1-2 Evolution is a fraud - look here's a book that says so: http://www.amazon.com/Darwins-Black...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235950244&sr=1-1 Man never landed on the moon: http://www.amazon.com/One-Small-Ste...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235950302&sr=1-3 Cazzo's desperation to find anything close to evidence is beginning to border on the pathetic. C'mon Cazzo - genuine citations - instead of propaganda please
How predictable it was that a few of you would deny any evidence. Evidence really isn't necessary anyhow for anyone that's been to liberal arts courses at a public college or university; take a course in Women's Studies, African American Studies, Asian Studies, Native American Studies, etc.... and you'll likely be indocturinated into pro-Marxist ideology. To admit it would be to admit you're a product of brainwashing, and you couldn't stand the possibility that if you had been brainwashed the other direction (by Nazi "professors"), you yourself would possibly be pro-Nazi instead of what you are now. In my opinion, university and college professors shouldn't be pushing Socialism/Communism or Fascism/Nazism.
Yet more radical right wing extremist propaganda from a radical right wing extremist. You haven't provided any evidence that they are - only propaganda
This exact thing happened in Canada and many, many profs came to his defense. A Halifax prof. put the Mohammed cartoon up on his door and some students felt offended and tried to get him fired. Many educators - including some of my own - came to his defense. Besides, you're still just working on hearsay. Showing that some books have been written on something is not proving it's true. Books have been written that supposedly prove Hitler was gay, the Jews control everything, the gays control everything, that North Korea is a heavenly socialist paradise, that China will fall in the next 10 years, that China will become the greatest nation on earth in the next 10 years.... Did you even attend a university?
Sadly one would be hard pressed to find a greater collection of simpletons than on most college campuses. This is a byproduct of the concept of 'everyone must be educated' but what if they are just really, really stupid people? Well perhaps we should just say average, but there is nothing wrong with being average. The problem is a false sense of intellect that comes along with this. Most people should be listening instead of dictating but many only have the discipline to listen for a very short period of time. Look at the person with the highest measured IQ (195-210) in U.S: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Langan We need to keep things in perspective. Another thing i find perplexing is these people dont seem to understand why they are going to a university? The main reason, if not the only reason is to get a degree. Why get a degree? To get a better job, why get a better job? to make more money.
A visit to a church in your area would dispell that myth in a heartbeat. "repeat after me - psalm 21......Todays lesson is taken from......" see what I mean? The purpose of a University Education is to teach people how to think - not what to think - for a lot of people brought up being told what to think, the transition is difficult. Of course there will always be some people who will struggle in education whatever level it is pitched to- look at Cazzo for example - not only has she demonstrated an inabillity to think rationally and clearly, or present an arguable case, but she even shows an incapacity to learn even the most basic facts.
Why should i visit a church and what does that have to do with anything being discussed here? What made you come to that conclusion? Regardless, I dont see a problem with being taught things that are known to be facts. You are confusing something that comes naturally and at that period of a persons life which coincides with the age people go to universities. This is a natural development. Obviously people are taught what to think in Universities but i dont see anything wrong with that if the information is factual. That is part of the learning process.
You brought the subject up - you know - that it would be difficult to find more simpletons per square metre than at a University - I merely pointed out another place with a greater concentration of simpletons - we could go futher and add Nascar meets, NRA meetings, Monster Truck rallies and The entire Mid West and Southern States of the USA to the list as well if you like. If you can use stereotypical sweeping statements that have little or no basis in reality then so can I. No - the learning of mere facts at University is a mere by-product - what is expected is of a student is that they learn how to analyse data - to constract logical and robust hypotheses and arguments from that analysis - and to defend those arguments and hypothesis with facts/data. The fact that Cazzo can't do this is proof that she has either never been to university, will never get to go, or will flunk out and end up selling shoes.
Why would you take that personally? You do make stereotypical sweeping statements and quite often. But that had no bearing on my response. yeah sure. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
If you did indeed study law then you will be well aware that learning cases and statutes - while important - is useless if the student is unable to provide a robust interpretation of the law and defend it - after all - that is the essence of a lawyers job - knowing the law is not nearly enough. However I notice you don't mention graduating - perhaps this explains why you are ignorant as to the purpose of a university education
i have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and went on to study law, but i left to take care of a sick family member.
If i were to be entirely analytical in my responses i would conclude that you are attracted to Cazzo.
