Will HALO be remembered ?

In video gaming culture. It stands alone. Uncomparable.
The soundtrack in my opinion is the best I've seen . Seriously.
Nothing fucking compares.

But will it stand the test of time ?

What's HALO???:shrug: I'm not much into whatever this HALO seems to be about so I can't say if it will be remembered if I don't know anything about it except people mentioning it once and awhile here.

I played it a little at a lan party, but it didn't really stand out as better than any other FPS. I never played it much, but it did stand out in my mind as a game that's not interesting looking.

It'll be remembered for sure though. It was that game that everyone went batshit over and MS sold a lot of Xboxes because of it.

 

Halo is the only reason x-box was succesful. personly though I think its mindless drivel. give me a good stratergy or rpg anytime over a fps

 

Halo was the birth of the later generation of fps games. Give it credit, people.

 

the only reason it was any good at all was because of the multiplayer; all you need is a crossover cable and you can get 7 other mates to join, a helluva lot easier than trying to organise for all of them to drag their computers around to set up a LAN.

as for the game itself though; pretty shit for anything other than multiplayer. who the hell thought it would be a good idea to port an FPS to a console? have they never tried to use a controller before? the computer version was pretty sub par in its gameplay, but would have been an ok time killer were it not for the endless crashing.

 

Halo made it necessary for later fps games to have a storyline.
Pj, I find strategy to be mindless drivel purely due to one reason:
No matter what the storyline is, there are always fucking base builders..
Except World In Conflict, Ground Control II both made by sierra, I don't see any other games being pure tactics.

One of my favorite games/series of all time.

 

My favorite game, mainly for the on-line play.

 

The online play is absolutely the best feature.

 

I'm guessing your one of those who never play turn based stratergy? dawn of war 2, act of war, warhammer mark of chaos and thats all the ones I can name of the top of my head that don't have base building

Turn based games can be pure gold but unfortunately most of them are of pretty poor quality.

 

HOMM 3 and its expansions now that was a great game.
